Yesterday we showed you the RS Forged Irons now today the RS-F Driver. There are two drivers in the RS series the RS and RS-F, the “F” is the better player model. Both are 460cc’s with the same materials and base technology. Where the differences are is the “F” has a 56* lie angle which will make many people happy it also has a 3.5* open face angle, Ok before you run for the door the good news is PRGR measures their face angles different than other brands do. It looks super square to slightly open and PRGR fans know not to be afraid of this. Follow the Jump for more…

The New 2016 Ryoma Maxima Driver – Back in March we sat down with Mr. Tanihara President and Designer of Ryoma Golf a man who we consider a genius and separate from the traditional golf industry in Japan with a background in medical science and technology. During our meeting he pushed across the table a couple of new prototypes and asked us not to take any photos, what I had in my hands was the next generation 2016 Ryoma Maxima. This club is three years in the making as Mr. Tanihara wanted to see large tangible improvements over his competitor’s performance. Everything was re-evaluated and designed completely from the ground up starting with the material and featuring new manufacturing methods.
Below is the official press release translated into English:
Our companies policy is to only release a new product when there is a performance difference from previous versions. The new 2016 Maxima is the first driver to be released in three years following the D-1 in 2009 and the D-1 MAXIMA in 2013.
The New 2016 Maxima driver’s greatest features are the world’s lowest center of gravity and the high rebound initial velocity.
The New “2016 Ryoma MAXIMA” is a complete revision of the original design. It further improves on the company’s own patented DSI technology and has achieved the astounding feat of outperforming its famed predecessor by a distance of 10 yards on each shot. Designed using an unprecedented new forging method involving a new technique that utilizes every last gram of head weight to create the best distance driver in golf today.
An “under press Cup crown” featuring a bend angle of up to 130 degrees was created, which is impossible for all other titanium alloys. The welding position has been substantially lowered, and extremely high-density 17g tungsten powder was employed in the design of the new “anti-roll power booster”. A lowering of the center of gravity corresponding to a score line interval of 5mm per club was implemented while maintaining the deep face shape, which achieved a low center of gravity rate of 50%.
Compared to ordinary drivers from other companies, the back spin has been reduced by 900 rpm on average. Also the average initial velocity was improved by 3.8mph as a result of the strengthening of the spring effect extending across the body. Our company has created an unrivaled high-performance club that belongs in a new category of its own. By continuing to create products that perform beyond their price, we strive to remain a producer trusted by golfers.

Introducing the next-generation Blue Board shaft by Mitsubishi – The Diamana BF Series Blue
Continuing the same tradition of the original blue series the new BF blue board shaft is known for a tight dispersion combined with a smooth feel. Mitsubishi started by reinforcing the tip of the shaft to improve impact efficiency ball velocity. Mitsubishi utilized their new Superelastic DIALEAD material to particular areas such as the tip and butt section. What this does is improve the maneuverability of the ball at the players will. The tip section has also been reinforced with their new MR70 high strength carbon fiber mixed with boron fiber to improve elasticity without hindering energy loss transferred to the ball. The result is more distance with better direction and workability making the overall shaft experience both stronger and more flexible at the same time.
Reexamining the raw material fibers and the manufacturing process of the original blue board allowed Mitsubishi to create a new carbon fiber material possessing both improved elasticity and strength, something which has been hard to achieve in the past. Approximately 20% strength improvement and 10% elasticity improvement compared to Mitsubishi Rayon’s past products. Now available for pre-order in the TSG ProShop with an August 5th Ship Date!
Razzle/Dazzle – A name that may not ring so well in the ears of westerners yet a wedge design that could help a range of players with their short game. The concept behind these wedges is what they call the “Claw Sole” it’s a design that coupled with higher bounce produces easier and more consistent results around the green. Let’s start with a unique aspect of these wedges, the bounce with 13 and 15* available which is much higher than most on the market today. This is especially for two types of players, those who have a steep descending strike and those who play softer or wetter conditions. The extra bounce also aids those who often finds themselves in bunkers or play courses with tall rough or soft sand.
