The New Miura Tour Wedge!

Introducing the Miura Global Tour Wedge – Originally released more than a year ago in Japan as the MG S-01 the new Tour Wedge is a more compact version of that very same wedge.  While players loved the soft feel of its unique forged FE99.3% material the top request of the original MG S-01 was to shrink it’s size down a bit,  reduce the offset and narrow the sole.  This new Tour Wedge is all that and then some…  Please follow the jump for more photos…

What I love about the Miura Global model is the clean stamping used.  The Japan model has multiple fonts and all sorts of unnecessary text.  Cleaner the better in my opinion.

The Miura Tour Wedge has a somewhat wide sole and a thicker top line.  It has a good amount of trailing,  heel and toe relief for the better player.  The neck is a little high and a touch chunky but all this extra heft provides a noticeable increase in forgiveness.

The Miura Tour Wedge has a beautiful shape.  The higher lofts have slight onset while the lower lofts have virtually none.  Its top line has more roundness to it than other Miura wedges.

The face shape dead on is also great looking.  the 1st groove sits very close to the leading edge and in all lofts the toe side of that edge raises quick lending itself to a beautiful rounded shape overall.

All in all its a big improvement over the original Japanese version MG S-01.  It went from an almost oversized wedge geared to forgiveness into a more compact players shape far easier on the eye.   I rate its aesthetics high along with its feel and forgiveness.   Hope you enjoyed the read if you would like to purchase one of these you may do so by “clicking here”

  • @geotechgolf_official is a subsidiary of DYNAMIC, one of the biggest driver factories in the world. DYNAMIC is responsible for manufacturing metal woods for many of the top OEMs, which have won countless victories including many major victories. The QUELOT in this post is in my opinion longer, straighter and more forgiving than the PING G425. But what really makes it special is its SP700 face which is widely known to be the best and most desirable face material in the industry. The reason why you may not hear about it is that SP700 is no longer produced. SP700 was a golf-specific titanium made by the Japanese company JFE. Once the material was discontinued DYNAMIC purchased all they could which translates to about 5-10 years worth. SP700 is an expensive material with very high ball speeds and an amazing feel at impact. face vs face the SP700 material has some of the highest and fastest rebound attributes in the game. It also feels sublime! #tourspecgolf

  • I appreciate the aesthetic appeal of copper finishes, as do many others on the internet. However, one of the main concerns is that they tend to rust quickly, particularly in humid or high salt-content areas. It would be wonderful if they could maintain their beauty over time. My suggestion is to dry it thoroughly after each use and apply a light coat of oil on a regular basis. With consistent maintenance, copper finishes can remain stunning, with the sole and hitting area on the face displaying exposed silver, which is the color of the forged steel #tourspecgolf
