The 1998 Limited Edition Titleist Japan Tiger Woods Replica Irons by Miura Giken

I’m sure many of you reading this blog are itching to get out to play some golf by now!!  And so are we!  While I, unfortunately, can’t actually help you to go out and play,  I do want to treat you today with some real “eye candy”  for die-hard JDM enthusiasts!

For those of you new to the blog,  this is a 2 part post.  First, you will want to go back and read ( Click Here ) Don’t forget to watch the YouTube video I made as well.  ( Click Here ).

I would like to make a correction to what I said in the video that these are Tigers grind – While these are an extremely limited release they were made as a replica set for the Japan market by Miura Giken Japan.  Not intended to be exactly what Tiger played back in the day.

We received the refinished heads back several months ago but just haven’t had the time to post them up.

Due to the rarity of these irons we decided on a very mild refurb.  We could have removed every single ding but it would have taken a lot of weight off the head as well as alter the camber, bounce and grind.  I’m so glad we did not as they are still identical to their true and original form.

I intentionally looked for the most damage and took macro photos to display the condition as accurately as possible.

The refinish was done 100% in Japan at the best plating factory that I know.  The hand polishing was very light to maintain the original head weight.  The grooves were cleaned well before and after the original plating was chemical stripped.

The back faces of these blades are in near perfect condition,  it is on the face that have the most chatter but  less chatter marks on the sole of the irons.

Only 500 sets were ever produced specifically for the Japanese market.  It’s so rare to see these anymore in decent condition especially a full 2-PW set.  A “Dream Team” collaboration between Titleist, Miura Giken and Tiger Woods!   Any golf club enthusiast would drool over the collectability and of these irons.   “The 1998 Limited Edition Titleist Japan Tiger Woods Replica Irons by Miura Giken”   It’s almost odd to see “Titleist, Miura and Tiger”  in a single product name!

These beautiful musclebacks can be yours!!  I only have this set available and when it’s gone… it’s gone…   Whoever gets it can hang them on the wall or put them into play.  Either way, you’d be owning a piece of history and would be able to brag about them forever! Please email [email protected] if you are interested in these very special and rare set of irons!

  • @geotechgolf_official is a subsidiary of DYNAMIC, one of the biggest driver factories in the world. DYNAMIC is responsible for manufacturing metal woods for many of the top OEMs, which have won countless victories including many major victories. The QUELOT in this post is in my opinion longer, straighter and more forgiving than the PING G425. But what really makes it special is its SP700 face which is widely known to be the best and most desirable face material in the industry. The reason why you may not hear about it is that SP700 is no longer produced. SP700 was a golf-specific titanium made by the Japanese company JFE. Once the material was discontinued DYNAMIC purchased all they could which translates to about 5-10 years worth. SP700 is an expensive material with very high ball speeds and an amazing feel at impact. face vs face the SP700 material has some of the highest and fastest rebound attributes in the game. It also feels sublime! #tourspecgolf

  • I appreciate the aesthetic appeal of copper finishes, as do many others on the internet. However, one of the main concerns is that they tend to rust quickly, particularly in humid or high salt-content areas. It would be wonderful if they could maintain their beauty over time. My suggestion is to dry it thoroughly after each use and apply a light coat of oil on a regular basis. With consistent maintenance, copper finishes can remain stunning, with the sole and hitting area on the face displaying exposed silver, which is the color of the forged steel #tourspecgolf
