The company Golden Ratio has been around for more than a few years and TSG has covered them in our previous golfs show posts in years past, this year what prompted me to revisit the brand is their full line up use of S15C forged steel this is a material that creates a buttery soft impact and is currently the softest used carbon steel in golf irons bar none. Golden ratio has a full line up of irons and wedges along with a new models that we would like to highlight so for more pics and info please follow the Jump…
Golden Ratio MB1 – Sharp angles make this an attractive blade the toe is a little pointy almost zodia like and the back face is flat with a cool toe side grind that rises it’s got a non glare nickel chromium satin finish from all angles.
With minimal offset and a razor thin top line it’s butter knife like designed around a few key factors, compact razor appearance, workability and a soft dense feel at impact.
Golden ratio’s new wedge the GW-01 is made in 2 finishes black and satin it’s a high center of gravity wedge with it’s cut out with a lot of heel and toe relief plus trailing edge the actual impact area of the sole is very narrow helping it make cleaner contact with the turf picking the ball off the ground with ease. This wedge is also made of S15C.
The original Golden Ratio SK-09CS is part of their original line up and still in production it’s a straight forward traditional style shape with a wider sole than the GW-01 yet with a similar killed trailing edge and relief on both sides.
The GT-02 is S15C forged with a deep cavity and a center ramp behind and low on the back face for a lower center of gravity and deep cavity to aid forgiveness, It’s still a more compact players CB in a smooth satin finish.
All new S15C Golden Ratio products will be available in the TSG Pro Shop int he coming week, thanks for your time and hope you enjoyed our photos.
