the plastic thead is used to fine-adjust the angles of the club too. Many Japanese club maker use this kind of thead because when the under presure, the thread will become soft and thin that is good for fine-adjsuting angle a little bit.

Keep the head on tight so that he can work on it while it’s still drying.

Sorry for the late reply, It’s yellow plastic piece. It’s on the firm side. Once and a while when removing shaft’s from clubs I find them in there.
