At TourSpecGolf, we’re big fans of the AXIS Golf brand. Ohkoshi-san is quickly gaining recognition as one of Japan’s top grinders, evident in the shape and craftsmanship of the irons offered by AXIS Golf. The brand stands out for its exceptional quality, feel, shape, and customization. Its options surpass those of Mizuno’s old Yoro-Craft and rival Miura’s MCW.

Last week at the Japan Golf Fair in Yokohama, AXIS Golf showcased their new CB, MB, and wedge—and they looked incredible. AXIS Golf’s products continue to feature mini weight screws, which are a game-changer for clubmakers, allowing precise swing weight adjustments without the need for tip weights. Plus, they place the weight exactly where you’d want it.
There are also different colored weight screws available, allowing for a more personalized look and color theme.
In the past, we’ve done custom runs without any weight screws, and those turned out great as well. However, we personally appreciate the more industrial look that the weight screws add to these irons.
The AXIS GOLF 512ZFX Driver has received outstanding reviews at TourSpecGolf. It can be weighted for a draw, neutral, or fade bias, but what really sets it apart are two key features.
First, the face shape stands out—its extended heel-to-toe length provides more surface area while maintaining a deep face profile. This design offers extra forgiveness for off-center strikes, especially for those who tend to miss toward the heel or toe. In fact, some players who frequently miss toward the toe say they can’t use any other driver unless it’s shaped exactly like this—and we totally understand why!
Also AXIS GOLF makes a killer 360cc mini driver, and based on the new ZFX series they had a prototype on display at the Japan Golf Fair as seen below.
