2016 Seven Wedges Back in Stock!

We went dry on these for a bit as stock dwindled down on the 52/56/60* lofts ( 64* is still sold out )  these are some of TSG’s best selling wedges the 2016 SEVEN Original Wedge and it is non conforming meaning the grooves are a bit wider and deeper than what the USGA and R&A allow for play.  Now back in stock we decided to post photos again and let everyone know that we appreciate them waiting patiently and all orders have shipped today and tracking numbers sent :)

The 2016 Seven Wedges remain unchanged from our first production run of wedges,  customers who purchased were extremely pleased in 3 key areas Feel, Forgiveness and of course Spin because these are non conforming grooves.  Made of forged carbon steel measured in tensile strength SS400 it’s the equivalent in impact sensation to Japanese Forged S15-S20C steel.

Our goal was  to produce a wedge that had the appearance of a players wedge yet with more forgiveness for the average player,  the most difficult part about this was hiding size without changing to a black finish.  It’s a tear drop shape and slightly larger than compact size is the perfect balance for a wider range of player,  to put some context around this imagine a Cold Forged Vokey with softer feel and more spin and forgiveness,   that’s been the comments from many of our Titleist Wedge customers who have purchased these.

The sole itself is versatile,  the gap wedge 52* designed for full shots and pitches from off the green while the  56* again for full shots yet has enough trailing edge grind to open up and play close to how a 58* would and finally the 60* was desiged for higher more technical shots as well as getting out of bunkers or deep rough.  We made every wedge with a purpose.

As you can see above it’s what some call an M Grind how it has a lot of trailing edge relief as well as a smooth amount removed from the heel and sole.  We also took it one step further by adding a curved leading edge for the steeper swinger as these wedges are all low bounce of 8* yes in every loft so as a steep swinger myself it was paramount that the wedge worked for anything but the most extreme firm and soft conditions.

Even the 52* has a little bit of leading edge relief which is not common but what we found was many times player requested the ability to open the face up on the approach wedge so somehow we needed to produce a wedge that had a narrow more flat sole yet some ability to hit a higher shot with,  notice we did not relieve the heel and toe areas.

In the end we are very proud of these wedge,  they are 100% handmade, ground, and finished in Japan  that’s another thing the finish on these are sublime the perfect combo of durability and soft feel not to mention it’s a high gloss brushed satin so while it does a lot to avoid glare it also doesn’t look too flat and boring.  Quality of fit and finish was a top priority in producing these and our production costs are nearly double that of comparable handmade wedges from Japan.  Click Here to Purchase.
