Crazy CRZ Fairway Woods

Introducing the all new Crazy CRZ-FW, this is one I’ve had the chance to hit and can sum up as a mid trajectory, low spin, workable players wood. Made using the traditional fairway wood material stainless steel it’s also got a deep face reminiscent of some of the original Royal Collection fairway woods designed for the athlete player.

Please disregard the light scratches in the photos this is my test sample which I hit on the launch monitor against a couple of other fairway woods including the new FULL Titanium Ti-FW by Crazy, which I must admit is more for my playing abilities. Follow the Jump for more photos and my initial impressions…

This fairway wood is only sold in two lofts 15* and 18* also word is there is a Utility Wood coming out,  the new 2016 CRZ line up now includes a players driver (optional left hand), this fairway wood, and the upcoming hybrid.

Japanese Golf CLubs

While having a deep face it is not tiny although still compact Crazy admits this design was influenced by the feedback of prol golfers who wanted deep and workable with a nice solid pop to it yet suggested a touch more volume for more confidence at address.

Crazy Golf

Feel was very good,  it’s a “chink” hot pop off the face this doesn’t feel as light or hollow as some of the royal collection woods used to be but this CRZ FW is more firm with better sound and feel.  I found it’s trajectory on the lower side but when combined with the new version Crazy Regenisis FW80 which has a softer tip and higher trajectory profile it’s ball flight was perfect.  The spin rates were very low so keep this in mind if you have a slower swing speed you may want to consider the full titanium model.

Distance was average but after many shots hit on the LM I noticed a tight pattern and consistency in distance where as non stainless faces like titanium usually produce a higher launch,  more spin, and have hot spots on the face where center is much more distance than miss hits,  this is why tour pro’s prefer these stainless heads.

Coming soon to the TSG Proshop but if you require one immediately or need a custom build please contact us at [email protected]
