The all new Limited Edition V Forged Tour model is the flagship of the Yamaha line. This pro model compact cavity has only 1200 sets available for ALL of Japan. The V Forged has a blade like setup and is forged from Premium S20C steel for ultimate feel and control. It has very little offset and a thin top line and sole with sharper lines. The cavity and emblem area are thicker than previous years and moved up higher to form a softer and larger sweet spot. The V Forged Tour Model is of course 2010 approved.
For the last 3 years straight the Yamaha Tour Model Irons have been very difficult obtain, Each year TourSpecGolf tries its best to lock in as many sets as we possibly can. This year we were only able to get a total of 3 sets, one pre order from our popular member bogeydog who has picked up every version since the Tour Model Started back in 07/08, The other of course goes to me as I too collect every Tour Model Iron that Yamaha releases and the 3rd well that is still for sale and demanding a premium over retail due to its rarity.
Allow me to inject my personal opinion and I don’t want to sound like I’m just trying to sell Irons because that’s just not the case as we have only 1 set to sell anyway. These are the HOLY Grail’s we can count on Yamaha & Endo to work together on producing the perfect iron each year. I mean does it get any better than this, our hardcore TSG’ers usually ask for something with a high square toe and these fit the bill, They ask for a blade like top line on a half cavity body and these resemble that, members also desire near zero offset and in each of those requests Yamaha has delivered this year more than any before.
Below we have a bunch of images comparing the 2008/2009/2010 Yamaha Tour Model Irons. The differences are subtle the few that have had the rare chance to own or play all three agree that the latest version is the best. The 2010 version is reported by our very own Gocchin to have a lower ball flight and enhanced feel. I have yet to install shafts into my 2010 version, I am thinking Roddio I-10 ( 110g Stiff ) graphite like i did with my Miura MB5003’s in the past only problem is that the hosel would have to be bored to size and that changes the set forever. I was able to spend some time on the grass with the new model shafted with S200’s and these gotta be some of the best irons I have hit to date.

We also have an Image of Yamaha’s full line up for 2010. There is a Tour Model Driver for the Pro level player and that too was sold out just as quickly. 5 years ago the name was pretty much unknown and now Yamaha has produced a completely new line up each year. The only thing left from the selection to revamp is their putter line. Even the new wedge is quality and very versitile.
Endo Forgings coupled with an excellent design in the Yamaha Tour model can only be a winner. I’ve had the distinct pleasure of working on each years offering of the Tour model and can attest to the excellence of this Iron. The fit (hosel dimensions), weight progression, finish and the precise Specs are first rate and make this Iron visual candy when you put it down behind the ball. Yamaha keeps the hits coming each and every year.
