Not much info has been released yet but based on it’s materials an visual design it’s easy to see what’s new and improved, the all new XXIO Forged is a 2 piece head and while that negates some of the soft pure forged feel that the better player is looking for it allows them to add a hotter face material and in this case it’s HT1770 Stainless Steel which originally starts off bendable but with the right amount of hardening at the manufacturing level allows XXIO to fine tune it’s rebound qualities. Expect a decent amount of offset, a fairly thick sole and plenty of forgiveness in this set as the cavity is deep as is theperimeter weighting.
Above some pictures from various angles showing it’s size and offset better. Consider this a full mid sized cavity back with better feel than other fully cast heads, the purpose of going forged in the body is purely feel at impact as when the ball compresses against the face the vibrations must run through the S25C soft forged head before headed up the shaft through the rubber grip into your hands, if the body was cast the sensation would change a bit for a lighter more tinky vibration that is unlike a forged body. Another aspect of this is they can use forged as the head itself isn’t that big, any bigger it would have to be of a different material or the head weight would be too heavy. Specs below:
