Once again here at GolfToImpress.com, we like to dive right into a PGA Pro golfer’s bag and see exactly what they’re hitting, what brands, shafts, putters and yes, even what ball they choose to do business each week. Obviously the clubs they choose are going to vary based on the tournament they are in, the courses they will be playing and even how they are swinging their clubs that given week or day. That said, we now get to take a sneak peek inside Luke Donald’s bag that he’s using this weekend at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial. Looks like the clubs he chose for this week are paying off so far as he’s currently -10 and tied for 10th place going into the final round.
Mizuno for Irons, Titleist for Driver and Odyssey for Putter
Looks like as far as irons go, Mizuno is dominating the bag, but when it comes to the big stick and the putter he strays a bit from his sponsorship with Mizuno, going with the Titleist 909D2 driver in a 9.5 degree loft and the Odyssey White Hot XG #7 putter. For ball, once again Titleist is representing well on the tour and he’s playing the Pro V1x, a long-time favorite with PGA players around the world.
The Full Bag…
Nevertheless, here is the full arsenal Donald chose to play at Colonial this weekend:
DRIVER: Titleist 909D2 (9.5°) with Fujikura Z-COM Six shaft
FAIRWAY WOOD: Tour Edge Exotics CB2 (15°) with Accra Avix XC 75 X shaft
HYBRID: Mizuno CLK fli-Hi (17°) with Aldila NV 85 X shaft
IRONS: Mizuno MP-62 (3-PW) with True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 shafts
WEDGES: Mizuno MP (54°, 60°) with True Temper Dynamic Gold S200 shafts
PUTTER: Odyssey White Hot XG #7
BALL: Titleist Pro V1x
Can The Clubs Pay Off Today?
Looks great to me, and it looks like it’s working great for him. Lets see if he can rise up the leaderboard even further today as Round 4 continues on as we speak!
