Looks like Tiger Woods is ready to pick up almost exactly where he left off yesterday. That’s right, if the -9, 63 he shot yesterday wasn’t good enough, he’s already started his round today with three birdies, and the way he’s playing, I highly doubt it’ll be the last three we see in his round today. Round 3 is already off and running, and so far is proving why every year, the Buick Open is one of the most entertaining events on the PGA Calendar.
John Senden Still Leading
While the fact that Tiger is playing well might not come as a huge shocker, he’s won the event before and always plays well here, the fact that the leader is at -16 and is a relatively unknown name on the PGA Tour might surprise some. Yep, currently taking top honors is John Senden, and considering the fact that he shot a 64 on his opening round, followed by a 66 in Round 2, and the fact that he’s already -2 for the day through only 5 holes, it shouldn’t be a shock that he is, in fact, the leader.
How Low Can We Go?!
It looks like Senden, Woods and the rest of the field this year is just trying to see how low they can possibly take scores. Already for the Buick Open, we’re seeing a tie for the lowest cut line, which was set at -4, 140 this year. Consider this, only 1 player in the top 35 is even above par right now. Wow? We think so.
All Eyes on Tiger
Nevertheless, today’s focus for I’m sure a vast majority of the crowd in attendance and those watching on television, will be on Tiger’s round. PGATour mentioned that there seems to be an electric atmosphere following Tiger and all those watching him play. That said, between Matt Bettencourt, currently tied with Woods at -14, and John Senden, he’s going to have some serious work cut out for him if he hopes to take home the trophy once again at his old sponsors tourney.
Tune In, Enjoy…
No matter what happens, it’s always going to be entertaining. Tune in.
