So here are some offset pictures of the Japan market standard R9 Iron which is the same as the US TP Model. You can see the less offset in the iron compared to the standard US R9 Iron. Both the new R9 and the Burner Forged have been selling very well in Japan. The Burner Forged had heavy pre-orders and as usual, Taylormade Japan oversold its initial stock. Many customers who ordered 3 and 4 irons ended up waiting as TM did not expect that many customers to order 3 and 4 irons for the Burner Forged. While there are limited numbers of 5-PW sets available for the Burner Forged, 3 and 4 irons are back ordered until early November.
Good news is that both the Burner Forged and R9 iron are now available for TM’s custom shaft options including:
NS Pro 850 950 and 1050GH
DG and DG SL
GS75 and GS95
and Project X
We’re also looking forward to getting some sneak peeks at the R9 Forged TP iron for Japan soon. If TM follows its usual schedule we should see pics from our TM Japan sources soon followed by a launch at the Japan Golf Fair in February. Stay tuned for more news!
