In full disclosure, I own and design SEVEN, I also own TourSpecGolf. We know what’s good and what I want to show you today is the SEVEN SC in Japanese DLC Finish. I’m not sure how many of you have heard of or seen the brand SEVEN before. It’s one of the only who use full CNC manufacturing to produce iron heads. When I say full CNC it means the entire head’s shape and every detail is milled. Not just the back face or face, the entire head. Big difference.
Full CNC manufacturing allows every detail to be as intended down to each curve and angle. Computer-controlled milling allows for perfect duplication and tolerance, this is the most precise way to manufacture irons, wedges, and putters that are single piece. The CG locations can all be exact to the design which is what ultimately controls spin and launch.
Tiger wood’s personal irons are Full CNC while the retail P7-TW’s are not. PXG also offers the full milled 0311ST blades although those are not made in Japan. Everything SEVEN is made in Japan from start to finish, even the CAD design.
What also set’s the brand apart is also the focus on shape. I am hyper critical on the shape, I have even scanned the shapes of all my favorite irons over the years, the next step is I lay each design on top of each other in different colors, finally, I manipulate the edges in an attempt to create my own personal perfect shape.
DLC – First a chrome plating is applied on the soft forged iron head. Then the DLC application is done and together this process creates the most beautiful durable dark black finish in the industry. 100% done in Japan.
