Yesterday I posted the History of Royal Collection Fairway Woods and Today were all about the new Tour VS Irons just released by RC.
Tour VS Forged Iron
It’s all about the Forging with this one. S20C produced by Endo, That’s right and as far as I know this is the first Iron I recall from RC that is being produced by Japan’s top forging house. It’s a two piece construction pocket cavity or what I like to call a cavity undercut, they did this to make the face even more forgiving with hotter distance.
It’s got minimal offset and is targeted to the better amateur player however we do expect to see these in the bags of top RC JPGA tour players as well as the Tour VS becomes the flagship cavity back model of Royal Collection.
Another important feature is the Royal Collection Tour VS V-Cut sole which was designed with a similar purpose in mind as other brands like TourStage and Srixon. It reduces drag and allows the sole to enter and exit the turf with stable and consistent results. As usual RC has a pretty extensive line up of shaft options, the one in particular I am looking to try is the Fubuki Iron Series i425 Stiff Flex.
The Tour VS line up consists of a new Driver, Iron as seen in this post, Fairway Wood and Utility Club. Stay tuned they are expected to be in the TSG ProShop by next week.
looks like new driver in the background. staying tuned for more info on that :)
Interesting design. Notice the taper of the back meat area. I would be interested in trying.
Is this a two piece forging by endo?
