Many TSG members and customers already know that PRGR makes some incredibly forgiving and long clubs from drivers to irons and especially fairway woods. Recently PRGR has been releasing more and more non conforming clubs like their “Super” Egg Series. The models designated Super are the non conforming versions, PRGR also has conforming clubs that do not share the Super label.
The PRGR Egg’s in general have been known for years to be very long and straight fairway woods and this new model here is a high rebound stretched design with an emphasis on distance and forgiveness. Follow the Jump for more photos…
My only issue with the Egg fairway woods over the years has been the head weights are too light and with fairway woods your aftermarket weighting options are pretty much lead tape or tip weighting the shaft. I personally prefer a combo of both as well as a heavier more stable shaft. This is what it takes to get the Egg fairways to work well with faster stronger swingers as the new Super Egg Fairway wood is designed for the slower or smoother swinger and senior golfer. Once fine tuned for the player these things are absolute beasts producing a powerful high trajectory that’s very stable.
The club head size is oversized, it’s only available in one loft 16 degrees and it’s very expensive retailing near $700 bucks which for a fairway wood is wild.
The face is a C300 rolled maraging steel while the body is a maraging AM355P material both forms of steels not used in golf clubs before.
This club holds multiple patent technologies such as it’s power flange structure and power groove design. It’s COR exceeds the coefficient of restitution 0.83.
If your looking for the conforming version we have posted the latest model (here) It’s very different from this Super Egg Spoon version and more geared toward the average to faster swinger yet still needs a bit more head weight to balance out for the stronger player. The new PRGR Super Egg Fairway Wood is now available in the TSG ProShop (here)
