Tourspecgolf is proud to announce that it will now be carrying Norio Kemochi’s hand grinded forged wedges in our pro shop. We had the chance to check out the Kenmochi lineup at the 2011 Japan Golf Fair and we liked what we saw. Master Kenmochi is a grinder who comes from a long line of swordsmiths in Japan originating from the same villages as legendary swordsman Musashi Miyamoto. With 800 years of sword making tradition in Master Kenmochi’s DNA and background, he has used expert grinding skills to create his line of Kenmochi wedges.
Two different wedge models were showcased at the fair, the satin conforming grooves Kenmochi wedge as well as the no make/non plated raw black non conforming grooves Kenmochi wedge. Grinds are smooth and wedges feature a straight neck and tear drop shape. Trailing edge relief and some slight heel relief allow for the wedges to be opened up and still aim at the target. Premium Japanese forged S25C equal soft feel and touch. Kenmochi also grinds two models of irons, using head shapes we have seen before forged in Japan.
What really stood out to me though was their new adjustable driver. Available in a conforming black head or non conforming gold head, the Kenmochi KD-01 is very sharp looking with it’s large kanji (Japanese writing) on the sole and 8 possible positions affecting loft, face angle and lie. We sure look forward to testing this new driver out, especially with some high end shafts like Crazy or Quadra.

Nice wedges
When will these items be in store. Can’t wait!!!
The driver looks amazing..But its a bit shallow faced for me maybe…Hmm..And why is it that the conformig version gets a 6-4 ti face and the non-conforming gets a much more premium sp700? At the same price too..
For the driver again, is it only the face angle that an be adjusted? What happens to lie and loft? Tried to work it out by looking on the website, but are not sure.
