Do you hit a slice yet prefer a deep faced low spin driver? The JBEAM TD-450 might be your answer. Many over the top swingers have a negative attack angle meaning the send the ball up very high and impart way too much spin. I’ve been tinkering with the new TD-45o and its really really good at doing a key few things that will help most players.
Follow the Jump for a brief run down on specs and my initial impressions on this club…
It’s based on a similar design as the TF-FW and utility woods making it very forgiving and easy to hit. The face material is a secret different from any of Jbeam’s other woods. As you can see there are 3 weights you can interchange which allows you to create more or less of a draw bias ( this club can be set close to neutral with a light weight on the heel port ) Also the weights center of the sole forward or rear allow you to change the CG depth and trajectory.
It’s available in 9.5 thru 11* and as always hand picked heads from TourSpecGolf are no problem at all. TSG can also have JBEAM reem the hosels to produce some pretty extreme specs. We now have customers ordering 2-3* flat lie with 3* open faces regularly. Yes when we reem the hosel the ferrule sits off and a bit ugly but extreme specs require extreme measures and this is what is done for the top long drive hitters in Japan.
Shape is very much like all Jbeam drivers, they all share a look that is attractive, not exactly pear but not bulbous or ugly either. It’s a shape that inspires confidence.
In this photo we have a 9.75* square faced 200g head custom hand picked head, perfect for me. I will be putting this driver in play a couple weeks down the road and posting my feedback in the forum.
