Some of us are lucky enough to play golf all year long yet for others it’s absolutely impossible to play in the harsh winters snow. Then there are those who live in an area that gets down into very low temperatures but the courses still remain open, it’s uncomfortable to play but lets still go over some ways to to make your cold day into a pleasurable one.
In Japan golfers play all year in most parts, rain or chill it doesn’t matter they are die hard devoted golf fans that will get out there in almost any conditions. Coleman has a product called the GolfCat portable golf cart heater and I have a lot of experience with these, in fact I own two of them and run both during cold rounds. One will do you fine but who wants to share a single heater with a golf partner, when each player has their own its simply more comfortable and it generates more heat for everyone. If that’s not enough I suggest using a cart cover with this trio you will easily remain at a comfortable temperature while the heaters fill the cart with warmth and the cart cover keeps it all from escaping.
Another option is for golfers to use golf specific winter apparel ( especially the high end high tech Japanese stuff ) brands like Mizuno Bio Gear, TourStage +3C, and Callaway produce some very sophisticated technologies to keep you warm in the winter. Now this type of gear is pretty much only found in Japan due to the expensive price points but the quality is in a whole other league from the winter gear found stateside.
If all that isnt enough you can add to the mix hand and pocket warmers, I’m sure many golfers are familiar with it and use it but when combined with the cart heater, cart cover, and winter designed golfing apparel these little hand warmers do the trick while your away from the cart preparing for the next shot.
There are a variety of brands and some are reusable but the ones I like and in my opinion generate the most heat are the 1 time use Heat Factory brand 10 hour instant warmers. usually 40 pairs or 80 pieces will last you 2 full winters and only cost you only 79 bucks.
