The NEW Epon 210KGX wedge has been a long time in the making It’s designed with a major emphasis on enhanced playability and spin stability while being new groove rule conforming.
When comparing the new 210KGX to the previous Epon wedge the 208KGX we noticed many new changes such as it’s aggressively relieved heel edge allowing the player to open the face reliably. We also noticed a slightly higher CG position which should help provide a stable trajectory and higher spin rate.
In recent we have seen many brands use higher CG as a selling point, I gotta admit I’m a believer in it. Epon does it well in the new 210. I also think that Fourteen does it very well in the V5.
This wedge by my count has the most technology of any on the market, but the question is will it work for your game? Will let you know after a few of us get out and give it a try. Whatever the case the build quality, S20C, product tolerance, and consistency is unrivaled with ENDO.
Epon went a step further to produce almost the equal amount of spin as pre 2010 grooves by laser hardening only the shoulder of the groove which not only increases spin but also helps the durability of Endo’s soft S20C forged carbon steel.
Expect the new Epon 210KGX to become available in the TSG Proshop later this week. It will become available with six different lofts: 50, 52, 54, 56, 58, & 60*. Club makers will be pleased with it’s heavier head weight from 303-307 grams allowing for a D2 balance with the light weight NS950 or D4 with the DG S200. Epon has also opened up another shaft option that was proven to work very well with their new deisgn the KBSTOUR Hi Rev125.
