Akira releases a new H2XX Series driver as part of their higher end tour player focus Prototype line. The new H209 (9*) and H210 (10*) is a premium 4 piece forged head. The Ti-811 forged cup face is matched laser welded to a precision forged mixed 6-4ti, G2 and G4 titanium body (crown, neck, sole). Unlike previous Prototype series models which had much lower launches, the new H2 features a mid to high trajectory ball thanks to a deeper and lower CG placement. Forgiveness is enhanced by a taper back shallower design Akira has created this new driver to provide a completely different feel from other models thanks to its forging process. Two weight screws in the back can be adjusted to create even more launch or less launch. The new H2XX is aimed at the better golfer to professional who wants more carry but low spin as well.
The H2XX is a 450cc conforming head available in 9 or 10* lofts, with 0* square face and 58* lie angle. Since it comes from Akira’s Tour Prototype Line, all real specs can vary upon request by up to 1* either way. Hopefully we can get a head in for testing soon from Akira!
It looks similar to the Taylor Made driver with the adjustable screws. Nice looking driver, would be interested to know if they are becoming available in Australia?
Cheers
