TourStage has just recently announced a February release of two new limited X Series products. The first is called the TourStage X-Drive 703 Limited Driver and we had a chance to take many images as well as give it a test run at the 2010 Tokyo Golf Show just a short while ago.
The new Limited X-Drive 703 is set for release on February 12th and is already getting a lot of praise from professional players for it’s big carry performance and ball flight stability. The driver head is435cc’s and only 4000 pieces will be produced. The standard shaft is a a Tour AD B10-01w special designed for this club custom Shafts are available also.
The new limited X-Blade 703 cavity back is set for release on February 12th as well. Like the driver the new limited X-Blade iron was designed for longer distance via more carry, It’s carry isn’t the ballooning type either it’s the type of carry a tour player desires to achieve maximum distance.
Only 3000 iron sets will be produced and standard shaft options are Dynamic Gold S200 & NSPRO 950 weight flow but if you order early before it’s quantities are diminishedTourSpecGolf can special custom order a set with the shaft of your choosing.
We have live images and opinion after the jump, click “Read More” to check them out…
In the cage two of the TSG staffers were able to give the new limited X-Series products a spin, The first thing I noticed was that the driver felt amazing at impact very muted and metallic. The trajectory i had was medium high which was unexpected from a 435cc pro level players club, on the launch monitor they compared my shots against the standard 703 model and both had about the same peak at their highest point but the new limited model got up in the air much sooner on a flatter more boring curve while the standard model started low and gained height quickly near the end. The impression that suck in my head was that this is a pro level players club that fills a category that I have never seen in any driver, an easy to hit pear shaped mid/high launching boring trajectory players driver.
The 703 limited irons achieved a similar goal, It has a slightly bigger sole than the standard 703 model but from above its presence is just as minimal. It too produced a boring trajectory that gets up quickly and has a steady flat gain instead of the traditional low to high trajectory. It also felt more forgiving than the standard 703 model. The original 703 had a lower ball flight and different feel to it, not sure If i would say it was softer because both felt great but I would say the original felt more dense and heavy when the ball meets the face while the new limited model feels like the ball doesnt exist.

Great pics.
That is one of the busiest cavities I’ve ever seen on an iron.
I had the pleasure of playing this driver and more than pleasantly surprised. I have not played Tourstage equipment before, but I may have been awakened to a quality company. This driver is very solid feeling and easy to hit. The shaft/head combo provided ball flight that launched quickly and flat as described. I found it to be as long or longer than than other drivers I was testing. I kept going back to it and was rewarded each time I swung it.
