The New R9 SuperDeep Driver by Taylormade was announced at the Japan Golf Fair yesterday for an expected March Release. This 460cc bad boy has the appearance in person of a 400-420cc driver. The first thing I noticed was the letters BBLB in a cool font written on the sole. I’m not sure what that stands for but I will swing by the Taylormade Japan booth again today and ask them what it’s all about.
Three of us were able to hit the new R9 SuperDeep in the test cage and I must say Taylormade has an excellent players driver in this one. On the launch monitor I produced nice low spin numbers and a low mid trajectory, although I didnt mess around with the settings (set to it’s stock form) I was suprised at the low launch numbers I was getting. So if you need a lower flight and miss the ball high or low of center this is a good option for you. I do not suggest it to anyone who requires a mid/high trajectory or misses heel to toe.
Set for release sometime in March the TourSpecGolf shop will have the Japan version available soon for Pre Order. Stay tuned for an update later this evening after I find out what this BBLB text on the sole means…

Do you have any pics of the toe? Is there a TP logo?
The R9 Superdeep is a TP model but I kind of forgot to take a picture of the toe! (^_^)
It does indeed have the TP Flag on the toe.
BBLB… Boom Boom Loud Boom…
Any idea when this will be available?
Tx
Bought and hit one today. Had it set to reduce a mild fade drive. Now I am hitting a mild draw. Need to learn how to set the weights to neutralize that.
someone should buy me one
