The Taylormade R9 TP Forged Iron made its debut today at the 2010 Japan Golf Fair. It looks very similar to the last TP Forged model released almost 2 years ago. The new R9 TP Forged is 2010 USGA Groove Conforming and produced with design supervision from major champion Nick Faldo.
While offset numbers are similar to previous Japan TP Forged models, the new R9 TP Forged features sharper lines and a shorter blade length with thin top line and a traditional shape and size. Premium forged from S25C steel, the R9 TP Forged focuses on feel and control.
The new R9 TP Forged is available standard as a 5-PW set and with NS Pro 950GH R or S flex and DG S200 or X100. Initially the R9 TP Forged will not be available for the TM Custom Clubs program. TM usually announces custom club availability 1-2 months after launch. The R9 TP Forged begins shipping in early March in Japan.
If you must have these ASAP we HIGHLY suggest a pre ordering them from the TourSpecGolf online Store because the first run will sell out very quickly.
Taylormade had a couple of swing bay’s open with their new products available for testing. 3 of us from the TSG team gave them a try and although we were hitting in a cage from very high quality turf mats we were able to gather first impressions that we will be posting in the coming week. Stay tuned for Taylormade R9 TP Forged Iron Reviews!
