MACTEC is the Japanese version of Macgregor Golf, The two versions of the same brand name companies are seperate entities with a distinctive difference in their design concepts. MacTec is obviously a more modern and edgy brand that caters to all levels of player while the U.S brand Macgregor is very traditional and true to their heritage.
This year MacTec has a dual series approach with Blue and Red label drivers and Irons. The Blue is more for distance and forgiveness while the Red was designed for feel and control.
MACTEC NV-F RED Iron
The NV-Red Iron is MacTec’s most playeresque design It’s Forged with an emphasis on soft feel, ball flight manipulation and tuned for the sensative better player. The design still features a low center of gravity to achive a higher trajectory in addition the design promotes maximum forgiveness ( for it’s size ) as well as tout’s longer distance than other forged players irons on the market. It’s a one piece forged head from a single rod with a good thickness of meat behind the face for it’s firm yet soft impact.
MACTEC NV-F Blue Iron
The NV-Blue Iron is a cast head with a CS291 material producing lots of carry and distance. The design is still rather slim and slightly compact, it isn’t exactly a game improvement and would suite a mid handicapper very well. It’s low center of gravity design creates an easy of use to the iron. Inside of the head itself it features tungsten in the toe and heel areas to maximize it’s MOI and lower its COG which both equal long distance and high performance.
The Face on the NV-Blue Iron is actually forged quadruple pressed for better feel so this combo gives you the best of both worlds hollow casted CS291 parts allowing mactec to insert tungsten and Forged S25C face and impact zone to produce great feel.
