Taylormade R9 Irons Coming October
GolfToImpress posted the first shots ever seen of the new Taylormade R9 Irons, R9 TP Irons, R9 Max Irons, and the 2010 Burner Forged Irons back in mid July. Well we just recieved word that Taylormade Japan will be making a big release this late october of the following models:
- Taylormade R9 Irons
- Taylormade R9 Max Irons
- Taylormade R9 TP Irons
- Taylormade Burner Forged Irons
- Taylormade R9 MAX Type E long Driver
- Taylormade R9 MAX Titanium Fairway Wood
- Rossa Monza Stripe Spider ASGI+
We have officially gotten word that late October is the release schedule in Japan but so far no word on when or what models will make it to the states. Thats Ok because our friends at TourSpecGolf.com will have a select few sets prior to even the Japanese release. I can only assume the R9 Type E, The R9 Ti Fairway wood, and the R9 MAX Irons will not be made available in the U.S.
Taylormade R9 TP Forged Irons?
Thats right although nothng has been confirmed to us officially a little bird has dropped us a note that after we see the current Japan Only Taylormade TP Forged Iron on closeout in Japan or released in the U.S you can expect an annoucement of the Taylormade R9 TP Forged Irons! We are thinking it will show first light at the 2010 Tokyo Golf Show in late Feb.
The current TM TP Forged Iron is no slouch to date it’s Taylormades best CB in our opinion as its based very closely on the ol Miura 300 Forged irons taylormade released to its U.S tour players and the Japanese public. Have a good look at this if you dont want to wait until around march 2010 for the R9 Forged version. The current TP Forged is not an iron to be overlooked and should go down as a classic for the better player.
When the R9 forged are released it will be the first set of TM irons I will have purchased since the RAC CB’s from 2005
Just be aware that the r9 irons are not forged…the only forged irons will come out of Japan

I should have said:
Taylormade R9 TP Forged Irons! :)
what is so important about the club being forged
If you are a high handicapper it probably won’t ever matter. The majot reasons are for extra feel and workability of the ball. Another huge reason is to be able to adjust loft and lie for the better golfer wanting the clubs to fit their exact swing. Cast clubs cannot be bent.
If you buy forged, then have them fitted for your swing, you ball flight could change drastically for the better if you are a 10 handicap or below.
Feel, finess, control, power, joy, …..Nirvana
Hit them yesterday. By far the best feel from a club ever…
Is it worth it to wait for the 2011 forged irons? or should i just get the r9 tp irons
