The U.S. Open has been a bit short on news and updates as of late, considering the rain just won’t seem to let up, but that isn’t stopping a man who isn’t even playing in the Open from making some headlines on his own. That’s right, John Daly, fresh off his not-so-triumphant return to the PGA Tour, is making some news despite the fact that he’s not even at Bethpage Black.
RV Wreck in Mobile, Alabama
According to reports that surfaced just yesterday out of the Mobile, Alabama area, John Daly was reportedly involved in an RV accident while he was driving his RV through a tunnel. The reports said the following:
“Daly’s RV and smashed into a 1998 Cadillac DeVille owned by Mobile resident Jimmy Roberson…Police pulled Daly over after the accident and he told authorities he wasn’t aware it had happened. Roberson’s attorney claimed the incident caused $8,000 in damage to his car and that his client had suffered some neck and shoulder injuries, although the police report did not note any injuries.”
Daly Twitters His Thoughts
While Daly has responded to these allegations, even using his Twitter account to sound off, he was quick to say that while he was happy neither he or his family was hurt, he was seriously questioning whether or not the man, Roberson, was actually injured. Consideirng the fact that the man already has a lawyer and is submitting it to Daly’s representation, he could just be out for a quick cash score. We’ll see.
A Daly Tweet
Daly said, via his Twitter:
“Was told by the cop at accident the guy was fine (which happens to be a preacher) – how about this man of (G)od now sayin he’s hurt – UNREAL.”
Stay tuned to this one, it seems that Daly just can’t avoid trouble, as hard as he may try. Yikes.
