DISTANCE + STRAIGHTNESS = The eRook II Driver! The new eRook II is definitely a driver worth considering for a wide range of players. Let’s start with the basics. It is 450cc’s, this is an adjustable driver face angle, loft, lie, head weight, weight bias. In the neutral setting, the face angle sits at 0.5* open. The standard head weight is approx 200g.
JIGEN the actual brand of the new eRook II driver is driver design-focused and this is their second product to hit market. The first model the eRook RK55z was a hit in Japan, known as a very straight low spin club with excellent distance now the eRook II is completely redesigned from the ground up and it shows.
The center of gravity distance, depth, and height along with gravity angle was intentionally designed to give the player equal to better performance than many of the most well-known golf brands drivers. This is a 3 piece structure (excluding the hosel adapter and weights.) The eRook II is made of the well-known (Body) Ti811 titanium that is wax precision cast while the (FACE) is made of Ti-180 which is pressed into the structure, finally the large encompassing crown/body is thermal pressure molded Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic or (CFRP).
Does that mean anything to you? well a lot of R&D as gone into this driver compared to many other boutique brands which is why the new eRook II really performs. The symmetry wing rib arranged inside of the sole does two big things, it transmits repulsive energy to the ball with extremely low loss and how they achieve this is by controlling rigidity and vibration for a stronger straightness.
The massive CFRP carbon-encompassing crown gives this head a surplus of weight to take advantage of, which for a driver designer is a luxury. In this case, the designers at JIGEN redistributed the weight savings mostly to the sole and combined with the extra weight adjustment screws on the exterior of the club head further lowered the CG while maintaining their ideal characteristics so that the eRook II fit the wides range of player possible.
The result is a strong and straight ball flight with very low backspin and when you combine this with adjustability this driver becomes a very compelling choice. The adjustment sleeve really works well in dialing in your trajectory loft angle, lie angle, and face angle with a total of eight positions.
A Commitment to the hitting sound is important. The key technology to the new eRook II is its Symmetry Wing Rib SWR and in a nutshell, it stabilizes the behavior of the head performance for a straighter ball flight. But JIGEN took it another step further and designed the head with excellent vibration/sound/feel as a key characteristic. They tested various prototypes and found that by tweaking their SWR symmetrical rib design they were able to get nearly no energy loss or unnecessary reverberation.
Another thing that impressed me when I tried it was the behavior of the head. The head moves obediently in the direction in which the shaft swings and the ball goes out in that direction. You don’t feel the twist of the left and right heads. Better players who we had tested the new clubs noticed a reduction in spin and a tighter dispersion. guys in the 2000-2200 rpm range would regularly see 2000 or slightly under.
So who is this for? Almost everyone. if you want to reduce spin, hit it straighter and long then this club is for you. A strong male can adjust the CG position, loft, lie, head weight, and face angle to meet their needs while a female can add the lightest weights, adjust the loft and face angle, and lowest CG to meet her needs. 192g at the lightest and 204g at the heaviest. I am gaming mine at a closed face at approx 195g.
The retail price is approx $800 USD on the head and TourSpecGolf offers a variety of shaft and grip options along with custom builds. By the way, installation is free with the purchase of the head/shaft/grip from us.
The adjustable weights standard is 3 x 2.5g (aluminum) and 9.5g (tungsten) with optional 5.7g (stainless) and 7.0g or 11.5g (tungsten) weights. TourSpecGolf is selling each weight for $20 each.
Nowadays JDM brands are selling head covers separately alone with the wrench. Headcover is $60 and the Wrench is $45 with extra adjustable sleeves at $45. I would probably skip the headcover and go for an aftermarket brand but as far as the head goes right now I think the eRook II is the best driver on the JDM scene

Chris, is this a conforming driver…any issues with buying
head only and any nuances with installing a shaft here?
Thx,Randy
Yes, conforming, both of their drivers are
https://www.usga.org/ConformingGolfClub/conforming_golf_club.asp
It is conforming. It comes with one adapter. Standard install.
Any MOI numbers?
I do not have that sir.
I read they recomend only the Fujikura shaft for this head.
If I put my favorite Diamana shaft then this driver will not perform … Do we know why?
That is incorrect. No driver is shaft brand exclusive for performance.
You should always choose the shaft that fits best with your swing regardless of brand.
Is someone going to test this so we can see how it performs with some actual numbers Wish there was a Japanese Ric Shiels around for JDM clubs.
Anyone have any in have reviews yet?
Anybody hit this driver yet?
Looking to purchase one of these, he readily available are the connecting sleeves /adapters for this brand, are they uniqe to Jigen hosel or are there compatible OEM sleeves that fit?
Looking to purchase one of these heads… However would like to know how readily available the sleeves /adapters are for this model….. Are they unique to the Jigen eRook II hosel or are there compatible OEM sleeves that will fit
