Finally released on TSG! KYOEI’s putter was first announced almost a year ago and now we have finally added it to our online Pro Shop at www.tourspecgolf.com – Why has it taken so long to offer these to the public? Well, the growing demand in Korea and Asia for the KYOEI brand absorbed the majority of the production for the last year.
While Scottsdale type heads are more commonly available with plumbers neck, this new Kyoei putter features a traditional blade design with a gorgeous flow neck. Compared to a plumbers neck with full offset, this new KYOEI putter is considered a half offset neck.
The putters’ thick top line and deep milling design allows for an incredibly soft feel at impact. KYOEI has two iterations of this fine feel offering 2 different materials and finishes types for this model alone.
As you can see there are two finishes, one in black the other in matte silver. The matte silver head is made of SUS303 soft stainless steel while the finish is actually simple bead blast to reduce glare effectively this putter has no plating or coating on it so at the impact, the feel is simply steel.
The Black finish is actually a Japanese DLC finish, this is a chrome-plated finish with a DLC applied on top of it. Because DLC is slightly harder than most finishes KYOEI changed the head material to Forged Carbon S25C. This combination of soft forged steel + a plating with DLC creates incredibly addictive feedback during impact.
The Stainless / Silver head retails at $450usd while the Japanese DLC finished S25C Forged Carbon model is $550usd. The shaft is a very specific OEM only NS Pro model manufactured specifically for this head design.
We encourage you to compare this putter against other high-end makers similar designs i.e Tyson Lamb, Miura, Scotty Cameron, and Bettinardi. We believe you will find that the new KYOEI putter rolls just as good if not better yet feels more pure to the metal and in the case of the dark DLC finish done in Japan it’s in a league of its own.
That looks awesome – love the sight line on it!
