Introducing the all new Basileus AAA 2020 Limited Shaft from Triphas (Pronounced “Try-Fuss”). The Basileus 2020 AAA Limited Shaft is coming by the end of February, but with only 500 shafts made they are nearly all pre-reserved with some weights and flexes already sold out.
First released in 2013, Basileus AAA has been their annual limited release model which has won the hearts of many dedicated JDM enthusiasts worldwide. They rotate through different characteristics each year and this year they are back to doing a “Type A” characteristic shaft based on their shaft characteristic quadrant diagram denoting a mid-low kick type shaft.
Torray’s T1100G 80T material is once again utilized with this 2020 AAA which is known by many as Toray’s highest strength carbon fiber made specifically for golf shafts. The T1100G 80T material is used to reduce unwanted movement at the tip end which can be a concern when building a longer driver (45.5+ inches ) even though this model is based on a Type A ( i.e. tip active type ) quadrant design by Triphas’ design characteristics. Torque rating of 3.2 deg ( S and X flexes ) for a 50g series shaft is among the lowest torque of any shaft on the market.
