Yonex Golf at the 2016 Japan Golf Fair didn’t have anything those in the know haven’t seen or in other words no surprises but I still wanted to take better shots of these clubs as other web sites coverage from the orlando PGA looked like cell phone pics, after the jump we have some pretty decent photos of the new Yonex N1-MB, N1-CB, Triprinciple Hybrid and a few others, enjoy our photos we do our best!…
A good look at the insert piece they call graphite hybrid this is to help by dampening vibration it also allows this MB to have an undercut without sacrificing as much feel. The N1-MB should not be as workable as traditional blades but still very compared to a cavity back the give and take is these should be more forgiving.
As you can see in the above it’s not a very compact blade I can only assume they needed the extra size to make weight after cutting out the slot on the back face. There is nothing wrong with a forgiving blade.
A little more killed edge would be nice but other than that it’s narrow and looks good.
somewhat a rounded toe and a little more shallow face profile from bottom to top this is another sign that Yonex intended to produce a more forgiving iron
It sure is pretty.
N1-CB above and it’s address below.
Here’s an interesting one, the Triprinciple hybrid.
It’s got a cut away toward the rear, this looks good it’s kind of what PRGR and Fourteen have done in the past with some of their fairways and hybrids.
what is new and unique is the slanted groove lines, it’s supposed to reduce and stabilize spin.
XPG Drivers shown in full force.
Not sure if Im feeling the graphic overlay on this crown but I’m glad it’s matte.
XPG Utility looks like it’s trying very hard to look futuristic.
But the face profile is near perfection and looks stealth in black.
At address the XPG Hybrid looks really nice, kinda chunky near the back.
Keep in mind the XPG series is closing in on game improvement clubs, the irons are multi piece for distance and forgiveness also larger than mid size.
One of the most ugly wedges at the show, I didn’t have the heart to post the face and how it looks at address.
Yonex booth in all it’s glory. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed the pics.
That blade is a beauty!
You say that the graphite insert dampens vibrations. Was it used only for feel or does it make it any more forgiving?
