I can’t remember a time when there has been so many amazing fairway woods on the JDM scene at once, ONOFF’s TS358 is sitting pretty near the top of that list, it’s the model created for the pro by the pro and I’ve put it’s through it paces seen what it can do and the take away it’s definitely one of my top 3 choices. You may be wondering what some of my other favorites are, well in the mix is also the S-Yard XV, PRGR’s latest Egg, Royal Collection 306V and a New Prototype we have yet to reveal made by one of TSG’s favorite shaft companies. In the past ONOFF made some really good shallow faced fairway woods, the description in the TSG Store says its got a semi deep face and I agree it’s also got a low enough center of gravity and a shallow of enough face to make it fairly user-friendly.

As far as size goes it’s 157cc’s which is considered pretty small for a 3 and to put that into context the S-Yard XV 3 wood is 190cc’s albiet very well hidden. Looking back at the previous Labo Spec fairway woods ONOFF has done much smaller, in 2013 they released a F358 fairway wood oddly no #3 was available you could only get #5 and #7 but even crazier the five was 120cc’s and the seven was 112cc’s some of the tiniest in golf today. So how does 157cc’s work in the real? It’s beautiful to look down on., this fairway just frames the ball so nicely, it doesn’t look small perhaps if it were in matte black it could but with gloss black it appears to have some size to it. To me making a smaller head look bigger is just as cool as as making a big head look small.
Tungsten rubber weighted sole, I would love to break one of these heads apart and see exactly how it was done. More and more brands are using stuff like alpha gel or TPU type materials but usually only for vibration & feel, in the case of the TS358 this rubber type material is also used for weighting and it being so close to the face I assume creates a more noticeable effect. All Labo Spec clubs are limited edition, they are made for the ONOFF sponsored JPGA players, released in extremely small quantities and never produced again.
