Well I guess I was wrong. With XXIO’s launch of a new forged lineup, I thought Srixon was not going to continue with it’s GiE lineup which pretty much targets a similar midcapper and improving player audience. I guess though there may be room for more choice as the GiE is typically priced lower than their XXIO counterparts by up to 30%. The new XXIO Forged lineup can be considered more of a premium line while the GiE is more budget oriented performance.
The GiE line will include a new driver, fairway woods and irons. The new woods will feature new shafts made by Miyzaki for Srixon which look pretty good. The GiE will also feature drivers, woods and irons for the lady golfer. Srixon aims to provide a balanced package of distance, ease of use and stability with the new GiE line. It’s a while away until the launch which is scheduled for late January of next year. We should have the pre order up in the Tourspecgolf.com pro shop 2-3 weeks before launch.
these look decent for a budget iron. I’ve been hearing about the Miyazaki shafts in the forum. Is it an after market shaft as well?
I certainly am no JDM expert but I find it odd that Sirxon and Bridgestone both seem to hurt or dilute their main brand names by having these other alternative brands. Srixon/XXIO and Bridgestone/Tourstage.
Srixon and XXIO were very different lines for a very long time and have only recently started overlapping.
There are NO Bridgestone golf clubs or products in Japan. Tourstage is the golf wing of Brigestone Rubber. Bridgestone however decided to launch their clubs as Bridgestone overseas since the brand is already known.
So GiE stands for “Game Improvement Equipment” ??? Or “Game Improvement Edition”???? hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Haha it’s very much more Japan-English than you’d think. It stands for
「Gravity(重心)・Innovate(革新)・Easy(簡単)」
@gocchin:
wow your japanese is getting good since you’ve been living there! You know kanji now?
OK make that “Golf in Economy” hahahahahahaha
