New Mizuno MP CRAFT 425+
Mizuno is releasing a new Forged Ti Driver for the Japanese Market that appears almost identical to previous MP-Craft Models. November 12th is the release date and what Mizuno’s goal was produce a 425cc pear shaped driver with nearly the same forgiveness as a 460cc driver. Mizuno has claimed to close the gap making this new 425+ Craft 10% more forgiving.
For those of you not familiar with the MP Craft it’s without a doubt the best feeling Mizuno driver produced in recent years. The shape, simplistic design and fact that is produced of Forged Titanium makes a world of difference compared to what they offer state side.
looks real nice and clean. got a face picture by any chance ?
I keep thinking I’ll see some of these items in the US–but they never seem to make it over.
Hi golf to impress
Firstly, its a great site and I always enjoy the updates. I got one question, why is there such difference in club for the Japanese market? Like this Mizuno driver is made for the japanese market and will not be launched in the US, Europe or ANZ. The same thing with a Titleist driver I saw in an article some time ago. What is the difference and why? Doesn’t make any sense in terms of production, design etc.
Thanks – I look forward to hear your answer.
Cheers
Mads
must be too expensive for US market to get the volumes needed and Mizuno probably doesnt care about niche market at the price of possibly sabotaging their cheaper US/EU lineup positioning there. buy here from TSG, i’m sure they gonna make it available along with everything else you cant normally get in US/EU.@2ndSwingGolf:
Sorry Anton, No Pics of the face yet. The MP Craft series won’t be making it to the U.S.
The MP Craft Series would be priced over what the average U.S consumer is willing to pay for a club.
In Japan because they are willing to pay more they have access to more technology produced by the better factory. MP Craft series has been around for years and still in my opinion Mizuno’s best drivers.
I’ve checked out the specs of the new 425+ and I would not at all be surprised if this was made by Endo. It uses the same ELF face material we find in Yamaha and PRGR models made at Endo. Also this model is a 4 piece forging with a special cross weave pattern in the Ti crown, advanced stuff. This lattice as they call it allows for the CG to drop lower in the head, almost 2mm lower than the original MP Craft 425 as the crown is ultra light but strong. Mizuno touts this as a big carry low spin driver. Limited to only 3000 pieces!
Anton, you are right as usual. Price is a factor as cost of all the high end materials and processes mean Japan only. Retail close to 1000.00 USD.
yes indeed. Clean looking and very classic.
All I see is some guys crotch in the pic! LOL!
Ok, this is my first comment on this site… How would a duffer in the US get a hold of one of these Mizuno Drivers…..
Official pictures, including face, are in Mizuno Japan catalog here http://www.mizuno.jp/catalog/product/43GB86851/1290090010/
high trajectory and no shaft options ? waiting for more comments/review from TSG when it comes out.
Your Message@TourSpecGolfer:
