I’m really excited about tomorrow. I’ll be playing at Oak Village Golf Club in Ichihara, just south of Kiminomori here. Oak Village is a JGTO (Japan Golf Tour) Champions Course designed by famed golf architect Desmond Muirhead. This 7024y Par 72 course is by no means easy. I’ve heard that most should prepare to shoot 20 shots above their normal scores as the course is tricky with lots of water and variety.
I’m taking it as a test day for a some of the clubs in my bag that are still considered quite new including my PRGR 7W with Crazy Black FW80 and Epon AF-901 with Crazy Black FW80. I’ll also be testing a new head, a Maruman LX460 black driver that was released a few weeks ago. It’s shafted with my Longest Yard 01. I’ve also got two new wedges in the bag for testing, Seven Hills premium forged tour prototype wedges. These babies are clean beauties forged from premium S25C in Himeji at Kyoei. I am counting on these clubs providing great accuracy as I will need it at Oak Village on holes like the floating fairway on the 366y Par 4 called The Lake District (pictured above) or the 179y Par 3 called The Sangreal pictured below.
Should be a fun day and look forward to reporting back with lots of pictures!
Desmond Muirhead: Famous or infamous? :-) Still, I love the pictures and this blog is the best! Have fun!
Wow!! There is nothing to lose except that secret stash of Penta balls, so grip it and rip it. One shot less than the 20 over the normal will be a triumph…right?? Can’t wait to hear about your day……I hope you are riding a cart as it looks like it might be quite a walk especially on that floating fairway hole.
