The Crazy Full Titan Fairway

Crazy Full Titan FW2

The new Crazy Ti-FW is a players fairway wood made of titanium with a railed sole.  This is one of TSG’s best rated all around fairway wood heads in the proshop for 2016.  Usually you see fairway woods made of stainless steel but in Japan there are actually many boutique brands who specialize in woods.  Crazy is one of them and I can speak first hand to this ones performance as I’ve had it in the bag many of rounds in recent.  Follow the Jump for more on this one…

Crazy STP Utility Shafts Now Shipping!

Crazy STP Hybrid Utility Shafts6

Looking for the best Japan Made Hybrid Shaft Available?  I get this question a lot and while there are many options few I can suggest with the utmost confidence up until now.  Introducing the Crazy STP UT shaft,  for those not familiar with the STP series it stands for “Step”  Crazy Shaft Co. Purchased the patent for this carbon step technology a couple of years ago and created what I believe is the most straight shooting carbon or steel shaft ever made,  the STP Iron Shaft.  Usually only steel shafts have a step in them now that has changed.  The Original STP IRON shaft plays very stiff to flex and is weight to frequency matched meaning you can’t select a weight in any flex they are only sold in specific weight flex combinations. The STP iron shaft is also the lowest flight most spin reducing iron shaft I have ever played and our customer feedback mirrors my opinion.  The same concept and technology in the STP irons now flows into the STP Utility Shaft but the key adjustment is that it’s not as stiff, these play true to flex with a more vibrant feel yet extremely straight.

What can also be done is we can have Crazy tip the shafts to play stiffer or softer per the customers request to fine tune to their preferences. The new Crazy STP Utility Shafts are now in stock and shipping immediately shaft only or you can contact [email protected] to set you up with a highly recommended head.  Follow the Jump for more photos…

New 2016 CRAZY CRZ-FW Reveal

Crazy CRZ Fairway Woods

Introducing the all new Crazy CRZ-FW, this is one I’ve had the chance to hit and can sum up as a mid trajectory, low spin, workable players wood. Made using the traditional fairway wood material stainless steel it’s also got a deep face reminiscent of some of the original Royal Collection fairway woods designed for the athlete player.

Please disregard the light scratches in the photos this is my test sample which I hit on the launch monitor against a couple of other fairway woods including the new FULL Titanium Ti-FW by Crazy, which I must admit is more for my playing abilities. Follow the Jump for more photos and my initial impressions…

CRAZY-9 PT Shaft – Full Length 90T Carbon!

Crazy 9 PT Shaft

Introducing the new top end series Crazy Shaft the Crazy 9 available in 2 models the “Dia” and the “PT”.  The PT model in this listing is designed for the faster and more aggressive swinger looking for a heavier shaft to help tame a faster tempo & transition for better results.

It’s an expensive shaft due to the shaft structure crazy has implemented using a FULL LENGTH 90T carbon sheet with reinfoced areas using 40T and 46T carbon – no other shaft company has gone to these lengths to create a golf shaft using this material structure.

The Crazy 9 PT produces a medium  low spin trajectory that is very straight and the high modulous carbon allows the player to hit straighter shots by minimizing the need for perfect timing to close the club face,  the material has extremely low shaft deformation bringing the face to square at impact faster than almost any other shaft. It is available in 4 flexes option ( S/SX/X)  More pics after the Jump…

Crazy Golf

Japan Golf Fair 2016 – Crazy Shafts,  it’s been a very long time since Crazy was at the golf show and while they told us they had a lot of new products in the works I had no clue their booth and the buzz around the booth would be so strong,  years ago their former president got into trouble with the law which cast a shadow over the company but now Crazy is running in full force and embracing the original concepts that made them one of Japan’s elite shaft brands years ago.  Welcome back to the dark side folks follow the jump to read on…

Crazy Sbi-02 Forged Blades

Crazy Golf

A while back I posted images of the black boron modified Crazy CBi-02 Irons yet somehow forgot to show off the normal version which has been popular internally at TSG with the hardcore members but hasn’t gained the attention of  the masses,  so here today I want to show it off in it’s original form all done up in Satin Finish with the sole, neck and face bead blasted for further glare reduction.  These irons are a pleasure to hit if your on the cusp of a players CB and MB or just really want a forgiving and soft feeling blade look no further,  except after the jump that is…

TSG’s Top 5 Best Performing Wedges!

Best Forged Wedge

It’s not easy choosing the right wedge there a lot of variables come into play from your type of swing to your conditions plus more all play a strong hand in how well you do with wedges,  In this post I’d like to talk about what I feel are the best of the best on the market today when it comes to Japan Forged and Hand Made Wedges.  So you may be wondering why does it have to be Japan Forged, well of course TSG is highly discerning about what is good and what is not but bottom line is anywhere in life you want to start with the best materials and it’s fact that J.I.S standards are the better and highest  when you look into the mineral structure in S15, S20, S25C Japan reigns supreme in this regard,  so basically we start with the best ingredients and you can’t always tell yes we are splitting hairs in some cases but again you only live once why not strive for knowing what you hold in your hands to score is special.

Why Handmade? For so many reasons while automation and mass production is more precise it’s no craft,  China,  Taiwan and other countries don’t have the skilled grinders to do this type of artisan work,  this is a skill passed down with many years of apprenticeship it’s very personal and with experience you can look at wedges and know where they came from and who the grinder is there is just something special about not every wedge being 100% the same also et’s not forget finish &  feel best is RAW or a Golf Specific NiCr Japanese Satin/Mirror holds no equal in feel and beauty.

These examples apply anywhere in life,  handmade motors are best!  handmade pasta is better!  we lust over hand crafted watches and clothing, Knives and more there is without a doubt something inherently better about the product that’s made by human hands and costs more to produce, I know I’d rather buy a single wedge that had manufacturing costs 8X-20X higher in price than mass a produced product.  Rant Over! Time to Follow the Jump to see what is TSG approved…

New Crazy Toyoshima 104W Wedges by TSG Club Works

DSC07700-Edit-Edit

Crazy Toyoshima 2016 Wedge –  Isn’t she lovely?  The standard finish is satin while this one is TSG Club Works modified. We receive the heads from Crazy then send it to a Japanese copper factory where they are dipped,  then several weeks later we get them back and soak them in a chemical agent to apply its outer most dark layer for a beautiful smooth finish that we have dubbed “Smoked Copper”

We have been perfecting our smoked copper finish,  this is the latest iteration it’s different from before as its smoother visually in its darker areas and applied more evenly.  Kaizen as they say,  always improving.   Enough about the mod job it recieved as these wedges are some of the best and those who know anything about Toyoshima-san’s wedges or have ever owned a Crazy Wedge can automatically assume these will play just as good if not better than previous versions.  Follow the Jump we have 2 more finishes to show you and photos from all angles…
