This is a custom set of Honma Tour World TW737P Irons – TSG is now offering these to our clients via email order and in the TSG ProShop. The “P” model is the most forgiving in the TourWorld line up It is the only cast iron of the TW737 series. Honma has been a leader in golf specific castings for decades and is implementing a new soft iron casting manufacturing method.
Honma has also thinned out the top line yet still managed to keep the CG low. The face itself is a hot hybrid steel material for improved distance. Behind the impact zone Honma has strengthend and thickened the area for a softer more mild impact. The TW737P is the most forgiving of the TW series, then one step more forgiving is the BeZeal line up followed by the Beres models for seniors, smoother, and female golfers. Hello Beautiful… MP-66 Yoro Craft Irons and TSG has thrown the kitchen sink into these. Where to start? The MP-66’s are Mizuno’s newest iron, it’s Japan Only and Mizunos new flagship players CB. It’s small, soft, and forgiving. Much more forgiving than it’s predecessor.
Our customers absolutely love the MP-5, MP-55 and MP-66. The feedback has been outstanding in feel and forgiveness across all three of those models. When you add over the top options to these sets it takes them from great to amazing depending on your specific needs. We got some great pics to drool at after the jump…
Honma Golf’s new TW737 series is incredible. TSG will be showing you the full line up starting off with what could be the Best Blade to hit the market in a while. Honma already had the TW727M blade which was a small, narrow and workable choice so a blade that offered more forgiveness and larger dimensions was great next move.
The new TW-BM in comparison with the 727M has a taller and wider face. Professional JPGA star Hideto Tanihara asked Honma to enlarge the head of the TW717M to try an MB that was forgiving. Instead of simply enlarging the size of the head they completely redesigned the blade from the ground up using CAD to optimize the CG so that this club maintains control and great feeling at impact with a larger sweet spot. Many more photos after the Jump!
Ako-san of A-GRIND has formally announced his new company AK Putters. I’ve been sitting on these putters until the new year and now have had ample time to test them on greens. This particular putter in my photos is not a standard finish, it is TSG Club Works Black Nickel Finish. The model is called the AK01 Stealth and standard they are offered in both silver and black finishes.
CNC Milled of SUS303 this new stealth has a deep milled face. The head weight itself is set to 345 grams. Available in straight shaft or W bend shaft. 4* loft with a 71* lie. Ready for my impressions? Follow the jump please…
This putter feels like a precision instrument. I love me good center shaft putter especially one that has the visuals to inspire creativity opening a possible new path to the hole. The deep mill in the pic above greatly improves feel. SUS303 tends to be firm with excellent feedback as is but the face on this does two things, the first is helps the ball roll straighter vs thinner mill or flatter faces. The second is it softens the feel at impact.
It looks like s stealth fighter to me, it makes me think of the word “blade” it’s a very workable putter yet it’s thick top line gives off a forgiving aesthetic. The center shaft vs W shaft is all preference, go dead straight if you have less of an arc or the W if you have some bend in your stroke.
Why did I refinish this? It looks great in standard finishes but in Black Nickel it looks outrageously sexy especially with the logo in a color that matches the grip. The shafts on these are what’s called over hosel design not the easiest thing to find but it comes with the putter and that’s all you need to get the ball rolling.
Batman’s ninja star above – so most putters have a higher MOI as they position a lot of weight back deep and center this AK01 Stealth pushes the mass outward deep and away from center. I think that’s where the workable comes from. It’s such a good design.
The feel off the face is just right, the black has no glare, it’s just a well done putter that is unique and screams Ako-san’s work. Who? Yusuke Ako who was the lead designer for Royal Collection from 2004 to 2013 for all their clubs including woods, irons, wedges, and utilities. Then recently started his own label called A-Grind. TSG has created a nice sized following for A-Grind. They are reasonable prices the woods, irons, and wedges are killer and now with his new separate series AK Putters it completes the line up.
The new AK putters will be in the TSG ProShop Shortly, I am also shooting, testing, and writing up a blog post on the AK Blade as well. The AK01 Stealth retails for 400 dollars and TSG can also change the finish, specs, grip, paint fill as well.
Mitsubishi Diamana X new for 2017! How long has it been? 4 years since the last version was released. Hard hitters rejoice! This is the lowest Torque in the brands history with the 70X & XX coming in at 1.9*. The goal of this shaft is to produce a strong and powerful piercing trajectory reducing side spin and reducing the loss of energy through the bend. Today on the US PGA tour you see a trend with players going slightly lighter or a lot lighter than a decade ago so this time the Diamana X shaft comes in a 50g range as well! This is Diamana’s most premium model for the strong swinger.
Another big deal is this shaft has a manufacturing tolerance of +/- 1g ib weight and +/- 1cpm on frequency. The materials are a Japanese 90T carbon with 78T in the butt end to strengthen that area. Diamana uses PAN MR70 CF, this is a similar type of PAN material that seven dreamers shafts are known for.
The New Mitsubishi Diamana X shaft is now available in the TSG Pro Shop for pre order (ships Jan 13th) This is a very limited edition model just like last time so be swift and good luck. click here to purchase
Grandista LS-001- The brands second driver release. For those who are not familiar with Grandista they produce really good drivers and fairway woods. The owner, founder and designer Kazutaka Yoshida is a former professional golfer. At one point he was ranked 3rd – 5th on Japan’s long drive championship.
This man doesn’t fool around, he sourced the best DAT55G from Japan by Daido steel co for the face of this new driver. I’ve got more for you guys after the jump…
PRGR has 4 different product series of gear such as the RS, RED, egg, Sweep (ladies). Today I’ve got some photos of the new Red series irons. It uses a thin walled titanium face insert + vibration dampening material called “flash one” low cg all that good stuff a multi piece iron design gets to have. So it’s all about distance and forgiveness with these and best part is they don’t look super chunky. More pics and comments after the jump…
The brand new Mizuno T7 wedge but this one done up by Mizuno’s very own Yoro Dept. I’m a big fan of Mizuno Japan’s MP-R5L and W series which are grind and spec specific for the steep or shallow swinger and comparing the new Japan T7 to those this one is really about versatility and in hand it reminds me of a vokey, a really soft impact vokey ;). Follow the Jump for more pics and info on this yoro crafted beauty.
Here you have it, Ako-san’s latest creation the DST utility wood also known as the Type-D. For those of you who are not familiar with A-Grind it is the vision of Yusuke Ako, Ako-san has been a part of the Japan Tour for over a decade and the designer at Royal Collection from 2004 till 2013 yes and he is the man who created the majority of the fairway woods including every Original Sonartec model that went to the states. In other words this man can design fairways and hybrids like no other and the early adopters of A-Grind’s products couldn’t agree more. The customer feedback is most often that A-Grinds products are shaped great, feel awesome and easier to hit that most. The Type-D (DST) series is the most forgiving fairway and utility wood in the brands entire line up. Ready for more? Follow the Jump!
