If you've been around TSG during the last year or two you may know what SEVEN is. SEVEN is my personal brand my endeavor to create something better and different. It's actually pretty easy to make something better but it's also expensive and in order to come out on top you must be willing to pay more to have more. I start with a sketch in my iPad Pro it's shape is influenced by the work of the many great putter makers, I close my eyes and imagine the experience I want focusing on looks then feel.
I choose Japanese SM490A as the metal, this is a material I favored for over a decade after noticing it not as hard as sus303 yet not as mushy as carbon steel. Face milling plays a big role in how a putter feels how much metal touches the face at impact has a major effect on vibration. Some milling can make a harder metal feel softer and vice versa. For carbon which I find too soft I prefer a different type of face mill than on stainless and in this case using SM490A which was already soft but not mushy it allowed me to focus on roll. Ako-san of A-GRIND has formally announced his new company AK Putters. I've been sitting on these putters until the new year and now have had ample time to test them on greens. This particular putter in my photos is not a standard finish, it is TSG Club Works Black Nickel Finish. The model is called the AK01 Stealth and standard they are offered in both silver and black finishes.
CNC Milled of SUS303 this new stealth has a deep milled face. The head weight itself is set to 345 grams. Available in straight shaft or W bend shaft. 4* loft with a 71* lie. Ready for my impressions? Follow the jump please...
This putter feels like a precision instrument. I love me good center shaft putter especially one that has the visuals to inspire creativity opening a possible new path to the hole. The deep mill in the pic above greatly improves feel. SUS303 tends to be firm with excellent feedback as is but the face on this does two things, the first is helps the ball roll straighter vs thinner mill or flatter faces. The second is it softens the feel at impact.
It looks like s stealth fighter to me, it makes me think of the word "blade" it's a very workable putter yet it's thick top line gives off a forgiving aesthetic. The center shaft vs W shaft is all preference, go dead straight if you have less of an arc or the W if you have some bend in your stroke.
Why did I refinish this? It looks great in standard finishes but in Black Nickel it looks outrageously sexy especially with the logo in a color that matches the grip. The shafts on these are what's called over hosel design not the easiest thing to find but it comes with the putter and that's all you need to get the ball rolling.
Batman's ninja star above - so most putters have a higher MOI as they position a lot of weight back deep and center this AK01 Stealth pushes the mass outward deep and away from center. I think that's where the workable comes from. It's such a good design.
The feel off the face is just right, the black has no glare, it's just a well done putter that is unique and screams Ako-san's work. Who? Yusuke Ako who was the lead designer for Royal Collection from 2004 to 2013 for all their clubs including woods, irons, wedges, and utilities. Then recently started his own label called A-Grind. TSG has created a nice sized following for A-Grind. They are reasonable prices the woods, irons, and wedges are killer and now with his new separate series AK Putters it completes the line up.
The new AK putters will be in the TSG ProShop Shortly, I am also shooting, testing, and writing up a blog post on the AK Blade as well. The AK01 Stealth retails for 400 dollars and TSG can also change the finish, specs, grip, paint fill as well.
SEVEN SH Putter - Made 100% in Japan CNC milled of SM490A the Seven SH series putter in it's standard form features phenomenal end over end roll, the perfect soft feel and a shape with angles to die for. We took it a step further sending a few heads to Gold's Factory for specific modifications.
This is a one of a kind putter, it's most unique upgrade is its' asymmetrical face milling. The SH has a top and leading edge that has a curve so a standard faux or real insert would not look proper. Follow the Jump for more photos...
Another custom 400g head weight Areso Custom blank sole L mallet will soon be on the market available in the TSG ProShop. This one is finished in black boron with nothing on the sole. Gold's Factory has replaced the standard weights with fixed tungsten to bring the head weight up to 400 grams.
It features Areso's wave milling and combined with it's S25C carbon forged body the feel is very dense and soft. 34" with a black Teramoto shaft and an elite iB67 grip makes this the total package. Follow the Jump for more photos...
Here is another one of the putters in my Benock collection a custom made mallet designed after my fitting in their Tokyo Fitting Center. The quality is beautiful second to none, the fitting is extremely revealing challenging and proving that often what we think is best for our putting is actually not.
The only way to purchase a Benock putter is by a personal fitting in their Tokyo studio or the Kyoto HQ Factory. This is unlike any other fitting as Benock has the capabilities to custom design your putter to your specs adjusting all dimensions mathematically to reach what is best for your stroke and putting tendencies. If you plan on visiting Tokyo or Kyoto contact TSG at [email protected] so we can arrange and support your english fitting. Ready for more? Follow the Jump...
This is not a putter by SEVEN, it is a Benock Putter by Jun Okuda which was personally made for me at his factory in Kyoto Japan. Because TSG owns the brand SEVEN I decided to deck it out in our style using one of my favorite shapes that Benock offers the ANDIRA.

Mayuki Takai creator and founder of Itobori Golf has been very busy lately. His latest creation the MT-Grind Itobori Putters offer a unique shape with a slew of custom options to choose from. Much of the work that can be done has yet to be discovered and a lot depends on the creativity of the customers mind. From hand grinding to welding and custom stamping the sky is the limit. Today I will be showing off some fairly basic and elegant designs he has created for our customers. Follow the Jump for more photos and explanation...

Areso Golf Designs by Rock Wu - You may have heard of Areso Putters they popped up a few years back with designs that look to be from the future. Seriously some of the putters look like they should be in a transformers movie that is so beyond the traditionalist designs most brands adhere to today. The man behind the name is Rock Wu; he is a genius in bio mechanics and club design.
Today we are looking at a stunning E13 that has been refinished in black mirror with tungsten weights installed by GF. The head weight is now a very heavy 400g which makes it perfect for the player who like that super stable weighty head or those who like to counter weight their putters with 40-50g on the butt end. Installed with a Teramoto black shaft and Elite iB67 grip in a matching orange color to the paint fill this putter is beautiful. The wave face milling has a nice soft impact adding to the already great feel of the carbon steel that this putter is forged of.
The black mirror finish does have glare but its one of the most attractive and best feeling finishes one can put on a putter. The look is flawless and luxurious.
TourSpecGolf will be adding this putter to the TSG ProShop we have 1 or 2 exactly like this available so keep on the lookout for it in the ProShop.
Introducing the Limited Edition SEVEN SH Putter ( Only 10pcs made ) - Yes that is right only 10 made fully CNC milled in Himeji Japan.
