Many TSG members and customers already know that PRGR makes some incredibly forgiving and long clubs from drivers to irons and especially fairway woods. Recently PRGR has been releasing more and more non conforming clubs like their “Super” Egg Series. The models designated Super are the non conforming versions, PRGR also has conforming clubs that do not share the Super label.
The PRGR Egg’s in general have been known for years to be very long and straight fairway woods and this new model here is a high rebound stretched design with an emphasis on distance and forgiveness. Follow the Jump for more photos…
Looking for the best Japan Made Hybrid Shaft Available? I get this question a lot and while there are many options few I can suggest with the utmost confidence up until now. Introducing the Crazy STP UT shaft, for those not familiar with the STP series it stands for “Step” Crazy Shaft Co. Purchased the patent for this carbon step technology a couple of years ago and created what I believe is the most straight shooting carbon or steel shaft ever made, the STP Iron Shaft. Usually only steel shafts have a step in them now that has changed. The Original STP IRON shaft plays very stiff to flex and is weight to frequency matched meaning you can’t select a weight in any flex they are only sold in specific weight flex combinations. The STP iron shaft is also the lowest flight most spin reducing iron shaft I have ever played and our customer feedback mirrors my opinion. The same concept and technology in the STP irons now flows into the STP Utility Shaft but the key adjustment is that it’s not as stiff, these play true to flex with a more vibrant feel yet extremely straight.
What can also be done is we can have Crazy tip the shafts to play stiffer or softer per the customers request to fine tune to their preferences. The new Crazy STP Utility Shafts are now in stock and shipping immediately shaft only or you can contact [email protected] to set you up with a highly recommended head. A-GRIND DST Fairway Wood – The latest creation by A-Grind’s Ako-san! This one I have not hit but was able to stick onto a shaft for some photos, my review to come later but for now enjoy the pics and breakdown after the jump…
Titleist VG3 Series Utility Woods – I would have to say these do a very good job at who they were designed to help, the mid to high handicap player. I’ve hit this for a few holes now and had range time with them and they are an absolute pleasure to hit IF you are looking for something long, straight, and forgiving yet it has a bit of size to it.
The most interesting attribute is it’s face shape, in fact the entire VG3 series shares very unique face shapes when looking head on. As you can see below very few if any woods share the same style. Ready for more? Follow the Jump Please…
Scheduled for a May Release A-Grinds new DST has been showing up in a few tour players bags on the JPA tour. It’s Ako-san’s next gen fairway wood designed for more forgiveness a mid/high trajectory with minimal spin. This is still a better players wood just an easier one to hit when compared to the Original A-Grind Fairway wood.
The head is made of stainless steel 17-4 with a 455SS face that is thinner than his original model for a bit more distance. DST = driving slit tech but to be honest I don’t believe and can’t find any specific evidence in these types of so called “technologies” no matter what brand is using it. The head comes standard with a 1* open face angle a matte black head and dark chrome finish.
TSG will have these earlier than others for shipment; we can also build these clubs with the best shaft and grip options found anywhere in the world. Pre-order yours today via [email protected]
Introducing the all new Crazy CRZ-FW, this is one I’ve had the chance to hit and can sum up as a mid trajectory, low spin, workable players wood. Made using the traditional fairway wood material stainless steel it’s also got a deep face reminiscent of some of the original Royal Collection fairway woods designed for the athlete player.
Please disregard the light scratches in the photos this is my test sample which I hit on the launch monitor against a couple of other fairway woods including the new FULL Titanium Ti-FW by Crazy, which I must admit is more for my playing abilities. Follow the Jump for more photos and my initial impressions…
Introducing the new Crazy CRZ Full Titanium Fairway Wood, this is the first full Ti fairway wood from CRAZY first revealed at the 2016 Japan Golf Fair at Tokyo Big Site last month. The new CRZ Ti-FW features a more shallow face profile and lower center of gravity to help the player get the ball up easier, the inner weighting produces low spin while the CG promotes a higher launch.
The size head size is still somewhat compact for the better player, and the FW-Ti was just released this week in Japan available in a variety of lofts 15.5/18.5/21.5/24.5/27.5* from 3 wood to 11 wood that’s right an 11 wood is available! Expect these in the TSG pro shop early next week and follow the jump for more pictures….
Last year A-Grind was officially started a new brand from famous club designer and tour service rep Yusuke Ako-san who was in the past the lead designer for Royal Collection in 2004 to 2013 for all their clubs including woods, irons, wedges, and utilities.
With 1 year under his belt and his own company he has made a lot of progress with nearly a dozen products released and in just a short time professional victories in the bags of winners. In this post we will go over his new version CMB Hybrid Iron or what TSG calls a driving iron, follow the jump to continue…
This is the new Honma Beres S-05 Fairway Wood, but not the usual 2 star model this one is obviously different as when you choose 4 or 5 star models not only are they more expensive with superior material ARMRQ shafts but also a world of custom options are at your disposal.
In the photos you can see it’s not your usual gold accented 4 star club we wanted something more stealth and dark so we opted to customize the head paint in matte black as well as the shaft and we will let you decide for yourself how beautiful you think it is, follow the jump…
The 2016 Royal Collection V7 Series has been revealed at the Japan Golf Fair, the new RC product looks pretty good at first glance I’m not sure how it plays but I’m sure one day soon I will run into these at a range or on the course.
Full Specs are not listed on the website yet, TSG is waiting for RC to update us on materials and other info but for now let the pics do the talking after the Jump…
