Yesterday we showed you the RS Forged Irons now today the RS-F Driver. There are two drivers in the RS series the RS and RS-F, the “F” is the better player model. Both are 460cc’s with the same materials and base technology. Where the differences are is the “F” has a 56* lie angle which will make many people happy it also has a 3.5* open face angle, Ok before you run for the door the good news is PRGR measures their face angles different than other brands do. It looks super square to slightly open and PRGR fans know not to be afraid of this. Follow the Jump for more…
The Bridgestone Tour-B Series Golf Clubs have officially been announced. While TSG has been posting news of this including in hand photos (here) this new pro line goes straight for the athlete low handicap player. The first thing to notice is it reminds us a lot of TourStage and for those of you who are new to the Japanese golf scene TourStage is what Bridgestone used to be in Japan and at one time the #1 equipment company in Japan. Overall the TourStage product was better designed with more features than the Bridgestone gear they would later rebrand to. Not anymore as these new Tour-B’s start off exactly where TourStage left off. Impressive to say the least.
Another thing to take note of is that there are no adjustable hosels on these clubs, If you look on Tour most of the players opt for a non adjustable version of a club and this is the case here. Already all the younger athlete Bridgesteone staffers have switched over to the new line of equipment and as you can see below the bags look stealth too. I have a quick break down of all the new clubs after the jump…
The Bridgestone Tour B Pro Series is Coming! The entire series looks fantastic very reminiscent of TourStage. Three drivers will be in the Tour-B line up the XD-3, XD-5, and XD-7 all three are for the better or professional level player. If your part of the TourSpecGolf Forum we posted real photos of all three of the drivers along with the new fairway woods, blades, and cavity backs. The entire new line up will be in the TSG Pro Shop Soon!
Do you hit a slice yet prefer a deep faced low spin driver? The JBEAM TD-450 might be your answer. Many over the top swingers have a negative attack angle meaning the send the ball up very high and impart way too much spin. I’ve been tinkering with the new TD-45o and its really really good at doing a key few things that will help most players.
Follow the Jump for a brief run down on specs and my initial impressions on this club…

Three years in the making Ryoma claims to have made a significant improvement in all around club head performance over the previous version (D1 Maxima) which was released nearly three years ago. If you have tried any of Ryoma Golf’s clubs you know, they are not just another club made for the sale of release they often bring the player better and tangible results over most other clubs on the market.

The New 2016 Ryoma Maxima Driver – Back in March we sat down with Mr. Tanihara President and Designer of Ryoma Golf a man who we consider a genius and separate from the traditional golf industry in Japan with a background in medical science and technology. During our meeting he pushed across the table a couple of new prototypes and asked us not to take any photos, what I had in my hands was the next generation 2016 Ryoma Maxima. This club is three years in the making as Mr. Tanihara wanted to see large tangible improvements over his competitor’s performance. Everything was re-evaluated and designed completely from the ground up starting with the material and featuring new manufacturing methods.
Below is the official press release translated into English:
Our companies policy is to only release a new product when there is a performance difference from previous versions. The new 2016 Maxima is the first driver to be released in three years following the D-1 in 2009 and the D-1 MAXIMA in 2013.
The New 2016 Maxima driver’s greatest features are the world’s lowest center of gravity and the high rebound initial velocity.
The New “2016 Ryoma MAXIMA” is a complete revision of the original design. It further improves on the company’s own patented DSI technology and has achieved the astounding feat of outperforming its famed predecessor by a distance of 10 yards on each shot. Designed using an unprecedented new forging method involving a new technique that utilizes every last gram of head weight to create the best distance driver in golf today.
An “under press Cup crown” featuring a bend angle of up to 130 degrees was created, which is impossible for all other titanium alloys. The welding position has been substantially lowered, and extremely high-density 17g tungsten powder was employed in the design of the new “anti-roll power booster”. A lowering of the center of gravity corresponding to a score line interval of 5mm per club was implemented while maintaining the deep face shape, which achieved a low center of gravity rate of 50%.
Compared to ordinary drivers from other companies, the back spin has been reduced by 900 rpm on average. Also the average initial velocity was improved by 3.8mph as a result of the strengthening of the spring effect extending across the body. Our company has created an unrivaled high-performance club that belongs in a new category of its own. By continuing to create products that perform beyond their price, we strive to remain a producer trusted by golfers.
