It’s the MB-5005 with a custom Y-Grind and hairline finish. Only 150 sets were produced and they are all that wonderful Miura shape, feel and quality that so many have grown to love. With all the recent press about Miura’s globals majority share being purchased and with all the fan boys & naysayers speculating the brands future I wanted to get everyone back to what matters most… Their awesome clubs!
After the jump we will share how these are different from the standard 5005 and what is so special about the Y-GRIND. Click to Read On…
This is a custom set of Honma Tour World TW737P Irons – TSG is now offering these to our clients via email order and in the TSG ProShop. The “P” model is the most forgiving in the TourWorld line up It is the only cast iron of the TW737 series. Honma has been a leader in golf specific castings for decades and is implementing a new soft iron casting manufacturing method.
Honma has also thinned out the top line yet still managed to keep the CG low. The face itself is a hot hybrid steel material for improved distance. Behind the impact zone Honma has strengthend and thickened the area for a softer more mild impact. The TW737P is the most forgiving of the TW series, then one step more forgiving is the BeZeal line up followed by the Beres models for seniors, smoother, and female golfers. Honma Golf’s new TW737 series is incredible. TSG will be showing you the full line up starting off with what could be the Best Blade to hit the market in a while. Honma already had the TW727M blade which was a small, narrow and workable choice so a blade that offered more forgiveness and larger dimensions was great next move.
The new TW-BM in comparison with the 727M has a taller and wider face. Professional JPGA star Hideto Tanihara asked Honma to enlarge the head of the TW717M to try an MB that was forgiving. Instead of simply enlarging the size of the head they completely redesigned the blade from the ground up using CAD to optimize the CG so that this club maintains control and great feeling at impact with a larger sweet spot. Many more photos after the Jump!
Ako-san of A-GRIND has formally announced his new company AK Putters. I’ve been sitting on these putters until the new year and now have had ample time to test them on greens. This particular putter in my photos is not a standard finish, it is TSG Club Works Black Nickel Finish. The model is called the AK01 Stealth and standard they are offered in both silver and black finishes.
CNC Milled of SUS303 this new stealth has a deep milled face. The head weight itself is set to 345 grams. Available in straight shaft or W bend shaft. 4* loft with a 71* lie. Ready for my impressions? Follow the jump please…
This putter feels like a precision instrument. I love me good center shaft putter especially one that has the visuals to inspire creativity opening a possible new path to the hole. The deep mill in the pic above greatly improves feel. SUS303 tends to be firm with excellent feedback as is but the face on this does two things, the first is helps the ball roll straighter vs thinner mill or flatter faces. The second is it softens the feel at impact.
It looks like s stealth fighter to me, it makes me think of the word “blade” it’s a very workable putter yet it’s thick top line gives off a forgiving aesthetic. The center shaft vs W shaft is all preference, go dead straight if you have less of an arc or the W if you have some bend in your stroke.
Why did I refinish this? It looks great in standard finishes but in Black Nickel it looks outrageously sexy especially with the logo in a color that matches the grip. The shafts on these are what’s called over hosel design not the easiest thing to find but it comes with the putter and that’s all you need to get the ball rolling.
Batman’s ninja star above – so most putters have a higher MOI as they position a lot of weight back deep and center this AK01 Stealth pushes the mass outward deep and away from center. I think that’s where the workable comes from. It’s such a good design.
The feel off the face is just right, the black has no glare, it’s just a well done putter that is unique and screams Ako-san’s work. Who? Yusuke Ako who was the lead designer for Royal Collection from 2004 to 2013 for all their clubs including woods, irons, wedges, and utilities. Then recently started his own label called A-Grind. TSG has created a nice sized following for A-Grind. They are reasonable prices the woods, irons, and wedges are killer and now with his new separate series AK Putters it completes the line up.
The new AK putters will be in the TSG ProShop Shortly, I am also shooting, testing, and writing up a blog post on the AK Blade as well. The AK01 Stealth retails for 400 dollars and TSG can also change the finish, specs, grip, paint fill as well.

Miura MG-S01 Wedge – Miura Japan not to be confused with Miura Global has released their newest model of wedge. The MG-S01 which is what I would classify as a semi game improvement wedge due to it’s extra size, width, and shape.
It is made of FE Iron 99.3% something we saw back years ago with TourStage Maru Limited wedges. Follow the Jump to read more impressions and to view our pictures…
TSG has been sharing all the new products in PRGR’s line up including the new RS-F Driver, RS Forged and Titan irons. Today it’s all about the PRGR RS Fairway & Utility Woods. Follow the jump to read on…
PRGR 2016 Titan Face Irons – This week we highlighted many of PRGR’s new club releases in the RS series. Everyone loved the RS Forged irons we posted on Monday but it is highly likely we will end up selling more of this Titan face model. The general golfing public is looking for 2 basic qualities, Distance and Forgiveness while the more vocal and maniac golfers found on the internets blogs, forums, and social media tend to desire a more purist and compact club. This creates a conundrum for golf brands: Be the cool and support the keyboard warrior or go after the segment that caters to the larger pie, the recreational player.
Today we take a dive into what would help most mid to high handicappers scores the most, a semi-game improvement iron thats easy to launch long with ease. Follow the Jump for more comments and pictures…
