My Benock Okuda Putter

_DSC5212-Edit

This is not a putter by SEVEN,  it is a Benock Putter by Jun Okuda which was personally made for me at his factory in Kyoto Japan.   Because TSG owns the brand SEVEN I decided to deck it out in our style using one of my favorite shapes that Benock offers the ANDIRA.

The only way to purchase a Benock putter is by a personal fitting in their Tokyo studio or the Kyoto HQ Factory.  This is unlike any other fitting as Benock has the capabilities to custom design your putter to your specs adjusting all dimensions mathematically to reach what is best for your stroke and putting tendencies.  Ready for more?  Follow the Jump…

ARESO Custom 400g Putter by Rock Wu

Areso Golf by Rock Wu8

Areso E13 Custom Mallet Tuned by Gold’s Factory – This is one special putter,  first off it’s not your normal Areso putter this one has no logo in the back cavity.  The standard weights have also been removed for custom handmade golds factory tungsten inserts which are much heavier bringing the head weight up to 400g.  The E13 mallet was then refinished in NiCr Satin,  standard this putter is usually black and we often find NiCr finishes provide a softer more dense feel at impact.

The E13 has a flare tip hosel it’s slightly toe heavy for those that have a regular arc in their putting stroke.  It’s CNC milled on a 4-Axis machine made of S25C so it feels nice and soft at impact.  Follow the jump for more photos…

ARESO Custom C90 Putter

_DSC0890-Edit

Areso Golf Designs by Rock Wu – You may have heard of Areso Putters they popped up a few years back with designs that look to be from the future. Seriously some of the putters look like they should be in a transformers movie that is so beyond the traditionalist designs most brands adhere to today. The man behind the name is Rock Wu; he is a genius in bio mechanics and club design. He has done so much work behind the scenes for big brands I’m afraid to talk about it due to the legality of it. Let me just say anything that comes from his table if your eye agrees with it or not it’s got a technical purpose that is well researched and validated. Rock Wu has co-developed materials with companies and has been an integral part of developments that have PGA Tour victories. At another time with his permission, I may be able to delve deeper into his success.

We have a beautiful putter here it’s the C90 by Areso Golf, and we sent it to Gold’s Factory for a refinish and tungsten weights installed. Follow the Jump and we will go over what makes this putter special.

Itobori Burning Copper Wedge

_DSC1670-Edit

Burning Copper Finish – This can be done to any of Itobori’s golf clubs including Irons, Wedges, and Putters. It’s a finish that starts off as copper then it’s torched by hand to have a unique look to it so no two wedges are exactly alike.  Over time the wedge begins to patina creating a more chocolate rust colored tone to it.  Please follow the jump for more photos..

The New Ryoma Maxima Driver 2016!!!

New 2016 Ryoma Maxima Driver

The New 2016 Ryoma Maxima Driver – Back in March we sat down with Mr. Tanihara President and Designer of Ryoma Golf a man who we consider a genius and separate from the traditional golf industry in Japan with a background in medical science and technology. During our meeting he pushed across the table a couple of new prototypes and asked us not to take any photos, what I had in my hands was the next generation 2016 Ryoma Maxima. This club is three years in the making as Mr. Tanihara wanted to see large tangible improvements over his competitor’s performance. Everything was re-evaluated and designed completely from the ground up starting with the material and featuring new manufacturing methods.

Ryoma-Maxima-Driver

Below is the official press release translated into English:

Our companies policy is to only release a new product when there is a performance difference from previous versions. The new 2016 Maxima is the first driver to be released in three years following the D-1 in 2009 and the D-1 MAXIMA in 2013.

The New 2016 Maxima driver’s greatest features are the world’s lowest center of gravity and the high rebound initial velocity.

The New “2016 Ryoma MAXIMA” is a complete revision of the original design. It further improves on the company’s own patented DSI technology and has achieved the astounding feat of outperforming its famed predecessor by a distance of 10 yards on each shot. Designed using an unprecedented new forging method involving a new technique that utilizes every last gram of head weight to create the best distance driver in golf today.

An “under press Cup crown” featuring a bend angle of up to 130 degrees was created, which is impossible for all other titanium alloys. The welding position has been substantially lowered, and extremely high-density 17g tungsten powder was employed in the design of the new “anti-roll power booster”. A lowering of the center of gravity corresponding to a score line interval of 5mm per club was implemented while maintaining the deep face shape, which achieved a low center of gravity rate of 50%.

Compared to ordinary drivers from other companies, the back spin has been reduced by 900 rpm on average. Also the average initial velocity was improved by 3.8mph as a result of the strengthening of the spring effect extending across the body. Our company has created an unrivaled high-performance club that belongs in a new category of its own. By continuing to create products that perform beyond their price, we strive to remain a producer trusted by golfers.
