2017 Japan Golf Fair – Titleist 718 T-MB and Forged Vokey!
Titleist 2017 at the Japan Golf Fair - It was a tiny show only one third its usual size but Titleist was present and oddly joined by Mercedes benz in their both as the famous automaker offered some of its Titleist collaboration items. The real story was all about their new Vokey Forged and 718 T-MB. Follow the Jump to read the scoop...
Here you have the new 718 T-MB iron and its gorgeous. It does look practically the same as the 716 T-MB but there is an evolution of design and aesthetics that took place in the creation of this new model starting with its internal weighting system which is now improved with a new shape covering more area within. Titleist says this new system helps get the T-MB launching easier yet with its strong lofts it still results in a penetrating trajectory. The weighting system from the outside is also a new gloss black color instead of the matte grey of the previous generation 716. These are now shipping for pre-orders in the TSG Proshop.

Below the new Japan only Vokey Forged wedge that replaces the cold forged model. This is a multi material 4 piece wedge yet its the same size and shape as a 1 piece Vokey. This is ground breaking stuff here as Titleist has designed 2 separate cavities inside one for internal tungsten weighting and the other for a vibration dampening material. While the body is precision forged the face is a separate forged piece.
Below some of the Japan only bags and accessories on hand at the show.
The Vokey Forged is offered in 2 finishes a beautiful brushed satin and a black PVD both look superb. This wedge is actually a progressive CG design which is why you see the stronger lofts say Low CG on the head the mid lofts say Mid CG and the highest lofts say High CG. This is exactly what you want from a wedge a higher launching approach that stops on a dime along with a short distance precision club.
TSG has been offering both the 718 T-MB and the new 2017 Vokey Forged in the TSG proshop for pre-order for nearly a month now and the product began shipping a week prior to release to our customers. Some are on back order due to a high initial demand but it seems to be flowing much better than the previous version.
